Do your kids share a room?? - WE NEED ANOTHER BEDROOM!!!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Can I just ask why you won't put the boy with one of the girls? When my DH was growing up they only had 3 bedrooms and his 2 sisters did not get along so he shared a room with his sister (who is 10 yrs older than him). The arrangement worked out great for them and they still get along really well to this day.
six_kids_at_28 replied: We have 3 bedrooms for the kids. I have a 6 yr old son, 5 yr old girl, 3 yr old girl, and 21 month old boy triplets. The triplets share a room and probably will continue to do so for a while. My son has his own room and my girls share... As with your problem, maybe your girls could share? Have you talked to your 12 yr old? It sounds like that is your only option unless you have a spare room around. good luck! Oh, and how old is your son? Because he could room with one of the girls....I'm just wondering why you dont want him to.
TANNER'S MOM replied: My Dh had to share a room w/ his sister most of his life. They had bunkbeds and didn't sleep in the same bed. As they got older I think he kinda moved to the couch to sleep.. but they were poor and did the best they could.
I was an only child so I had a bed to myself. My Dh says they would change and dress in the bedroom.. and it wasn't to hard. They respected privacy and knocked before entering when they were older. When they were young they were just KIDS.. you know.
I have 4 kids.. and 3 bedrooms. But I have 2 and 2.. but my boys have all slept w/ there sisters. They are close and it is sweet. Sometimes my youngest will still go get in bed w/ a sissy if he had a bad dream.. they open the covers and he climbs in. It is really innocent and sweet.

Before we got a house with three bedrooms, my brother, sister and I all shared a room but we were really young. As we got older mom made sure brother had his own room even if that meant her sleeping on the couch.
My DH's son just recently got his own room. He was sharing a room with his little sister and there was an extra bedroom he could have had.
sunshine girls replied: I have 5 bedrooms, so the girls each get their own, although Gwen likes to sleep in Elle's room sometimes. Is your 3 year old a sound sleeper? I have friends who have 2 girls, they're 10 and 1. They share a room and they dont have any trouble because the 1 year old is a sound sleeper. But if that wouldn't work you could just try putting your son in with your eldest daughter. If they get along it probably wouldn't be so bad.
mckayleesmom replied: I grew up in a family of 6 kids....5 of who lived at home in a 3 bedroom house...My snobby older sister got her own room and the 4 of us had to share. 2 girls and 2 boys.....We had 2 sets of bunkbeds. We had a pretty huge room too. We had alot of fun in those days. We never had a problem.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: My sister has a 14 year old son, 12 year old daughter, 10 year old daughter and an almost 1 year old son.... right now the 14 y/o boy and 10 y/o girl are sharing a room and the 12 y/o and baby are in the other room because the two girls weren't happy sharing a room. I don't think there's anything wrong with it for now - they're still pretty innocent. They're moving into a bigger house soon and then they'll have their own rooms but they've had this arrangement for a few years and it's worked good.
NikkiM replied: My kids have their own bedrooms. I shared a room with my brother for a while, no big deal. Are the rooms big? can you section 1 off and make a semi private area for the baby?
six_kids_at_28 replied: What a good idea!
kimberley replied: how old is your son? if he is just little i don't see why him and your 3yo can't share a room. my dh and his sis shared for a long time. do you have a basement or attic that can be transformed into a room for the eldest child? i am sure she would love that much privacy. only other alternative is to keep the 3yo in your room. just give her an area that is her own with a toddler bed and her toys. good luck with your decision.
oh and i have 2 boys, 1 girl and possibly another girl on the way. regardless of sex, the new baby and my daughter will share a room because the boys are older and share a room.
MomToMany replied: Here's what we do:
Logan (12) has his own room. Quentin (10) & Ethan (5) share a room, & Hannah (3 1/2) and Kayla (18 months) share a room. I think you got some great ideas on some arrangements.
Mom2Boyz replied: We only have 2 bedrooms, so our boys will definatly be sharing. Right now Conner sleeps in their room and Caden is still sleeping in his bassinet in our room.
3xsthefun replied: We only have 2 bedrooms, so my girls will be sharing a room, until we get a bigger house later on.
~KARA~ replied: I have a 3 bedroom house, with 2 girls and 1 boy.
