Do you watch Baby Story on TLC?

Kaitlin'smom replied: when I find it on and there is nothing else to watch I will watch them. I would not watch it at the end of my pregnancy, figured it might scare the *hit out of me.

MamaMartie replied: Everytime I start watching A Baby Story every day my dh cringes b/c it means that I've got the urge to have another baby. Once I get pg I watch it a couple times a week, and occationally after the baby is born. I think my dh would ahve it taken off the air if he could. lol

I watch every baby thing I can get my eyes on!! Labor and Delivery, Maternity Ward, Babies - Special Delivery, you name it! I am an addict!!!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I love a Baby Story. I watch it everyday. Jade and I also watch A Wedding Story, A makeover Story, and A Dating Story. It is part of our daily routine. There never seems to be anything else on anyway. I am watching A Makeover Story right now. The funny thing is I couldn't watch anything that has to do with birth while I was pg. Now I can't get enough of it.

KatieLeigh79 replied: I tried watching it while PG and realized the women just seemed to scream way to much and i couldn't figure out why and being hostile i'd sit there and tell the tv that they could do it with less noise But im still rather hooked on trading spaces, changing rooms, and a few of the food programs that seemed to become addictive while i was a small blimp

paradisemommy replied: the whole time i was pg - i couldn't get enough of this show..i was totally addicted - i think it's about the only thing that i did watch..

and i cringed every time i saw one of the ones with the screaming ladies on there!!

but it's nice to see they don't censor out A LOT..shows the transition period

mama3x replied: With DD I watched it all the time, anticipating a pregnancy, labor, and delivery like the ones they showed. After the traumas with DD, I find I can't anymore. But I have seen a couple of the new ones.

DansMom replied: I love those shows---I just don't know when they are on, so I only watch them these days when I happen to see them. I cry every time I see a baby be born, on any show at any time.

raysnroof replied: It seems that I am the only one here who loves to hate that show. We don't get cable or such but I would watch the show when i visited my mother's place. My hubby said I did that to torture myself. I love the natural wonder of birth but that show almost always makes birth seem like a medical abnormality that only doctors can save you from. Inevitably, I always saw a staff error that led to more medical inteventions, pain, and trauma for the mother. The midwife in me quivers up and down at the cruelty done to both mother and child in almost every show. I end up screaming at the TV.

Then my family just looks at me, shaking thier heads because I knew they were not going to show birth in a good light anyway. I just came back from visiting mom and tried once more to watch that show. Well, some things never change.

PS. Did I ever mention my goal to be an entry level midwife when the kids are older? That should explain things.

Nancy replied: I always watch that show every chance I get. DH hated me watching it he said it just makes you want another baby. Well to our surprise we are expecting #4, so now he just doesn't care any more.
