Do you toss clothes without the o.k.?

C&K*s Mommie wrote: If you run across something of your DH's/SO's that is in bad shape, but they still wear it, do you give it the heave-ho, without confirming and letting them know?? Just curious.

Chris has some several pairs of jeans that he has worn out, but he still wears them & I still wash them but I am getting tired of seeing them look as raggedy as they do. Most of his things that are not worn anymore, or often (i.e. t-shirts that he has an influx of rolleyes.gif ) I toss those things, but I wanted to know what others did if they still wear the clothes. If I asked him about it I know it would be a negative, because I have mentioned it before that they need to be trashed, and it was nosmiley.gif then.

I am debating still though.... bigthink.gif

redchief replied: Nah, Lisa suggests when I should throw something nasty away. Sometimes I even listen!

luvmykids replied: I just do it. If I waited for an ok we'd all be sleeping in the garage, b/c DH will NEVER get rid of anything. He had shirts he hadn't worn in 10 years! I tried to compromise by boxing them up in the garage but even that about overran us! This applies to stuff he still wears but shouldn't, also. He has about 5 pairs of jeans that have holes in the butt, but he still wants them taken to the cleaners to be starched and pressed! I finally took them and never brought them back ...

C&K*s Mommie replied: Ed you are hilarious! I enjoy reading your posts.

emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif that was a good one! emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

Crystalina replied: I never throw any of his old clothes away. Since we live on a farm even his raggedy clothes are good for scooping out the horse poo. laugh.gif
There are just certain things I insist he doesn't wear into town.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yes.

But only because he doesn't have the sense NOT to wear it.

Seriously - if I know it's something that means something to him - like, for example - a shirt from his university class etc etc... i won't throw t away. Even if it's got pit stains, holes everywhere, and the hem at the bottom is just about all undone.

At least he asks me "is this ok?" before going out... that's when I tell him to change.

Cece00 replied: I'd just toss it.

I dont know that I've ever had to do that with his "raggedy" clothes b/c he usually says to me "This has a hole in it" and wont wear it anymore.

BUT I have thrown out/donated UGLY clothes without asking his permission. rolling_smile.gif My DH has pretty good style, he dressed OK before we were together but he did have SOME stuff that was "ick" IMO...now usually I buy his clothes & I got rid of the ugly stuff so we're both OK.

I dont think he's EVER asked where something went when I got rid of it. Perhaps its b/c he's got wayyyyyy too much stuff (more than me!)

kayla's mama replied: Nope I wait for the ok. I don't even put his clothes away. If I threw out the clothes that we all ragged, the poor guy wouldn't have anything to wear emlaugh.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Toss em! biggrin.gif

Actually, I don't do this (unless it is underwear or undershirts) But Scotty wouldn't mind if I did. He loves when I throw things away. tongue.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: It depends...if it's something I know he won't miss, then I will toss it! But there are some things that are seriously torn to shreds, like an old college t-shirt with all these holes, that I just know he would kill me if I tossed. I know this because I tried once!!! He found it and didn't necessarily get mad, but he reminds me several times now to leave "that one" alone! rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: wavey.gif i do! if it's super holy or stained, it magically gets lost in the laundry forever laugh.gif

Cece00 replied:

Good one. If my DH ever asks me where a piece of clothing went, I'm going to say that!

Edward's Mommy replied: I cannot tell you the number of things of Chris' I've thrown away, and then all of a sudden....here it is again. It's like he knows when I toss something and then goes through the trash for it!! rolling_smile.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I don't. DH is usually the one who tells me when my clothes are getting too raggedy. A few weeks ago I was wearing an old pair of jeans that had a hole in them and he said "I think you need to throw those jeans out" I told him I would soon so he stuck his fingers in the hole and ripped it until the waistband practically fell off! rolling_smile.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I have holes in my jeans and I will NOT throw out
Kids pay 85.00 and up for those holes ( but i cant wear them to work ) blush.gif
Ed knows better then to touch them bc I have my pants counted LOL
