Do you still use a baby monitor?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: We do! Maybe I've asked this before, but I'm wondering if I'm being silly still using a monitor when Will is now over a year old. Our bedroom is right next to his too, but I just feel more comfortable since both DH and I are pretty hard sleepers.

If you don't, how old were your kids when you finally got rid of it??

MommyToAshley replied: We used both a sound and motion monitor until we took Ashley's crib down, right before she turned 3. blush.gif Now we use just the sound monitor. Go ahead, call me a worry wart... I know I am.

My3LilMonkeys replied: We still use one for Brooke - she just turned 2. I don't use one for Madison b/c her room is right next to ours and I am a light sleeper.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Dee Dee...I would NEVER call you a worry wart! I will probably do the same thing! rolling_smile.gif Isn't it amazing that we have the technology we have today?? If we have it, we may as well keep using it right??

moped replied: Haven't used one since he was 4 months old - not because I don't worry though

ediep replied: we still use the little tv monitor, especially when we are downstairs watching tv and Jason is upstairs in bed.

aspenblue1 replied: I just turned Isabella's off becuase it interferes with Kyrstens otherwise I would still have it one becuase its easier to here when she wakes up and is crying.l

A&A'smommy replied: My house is small and she still sleeps in our room so no we don't even If I were to step outside I could still hear her!

coasterqueen replied: Nope, not with Kylie. Although we would have if Dh wasn't sleeping back there with her. now that he's gone I'm sleeping on that side of the house so I know I'll hear her so I don't have it on. I do for Megan when I'm not sleeping in her room.

Once Dh gets back home he hopefully won't be sleeping in Kylie's room tongue.gif and then we'll probably put the monitor back on in her room.

The reason we'll still do this is because our bedroom is 70 ft on the other side of the house and we live out in the middle of the country with woods on three sides of us. I just want to know what is going on on that side of the house. tongue.gif We'll still do it when she's a teen so we know she's not trying to sneak out of the house. emlaugh.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: We don't use one at night, I am such a light sleeper I think I can hear them turn over in bed. BUt I do have a great monuitor than I can use if I walk next door to talk to my friend. I can hear the heater turn on and it was really bad becasue I used to hear the fish in the fish bowl that was in the kids bathroom.

ian'smommy replied: We still use one for Ian and he is 3. If we don't use it I would never hear him at night when he wakes up crying. I would never know there was anything wrong. His room is upstairs and our room is downstairs. DH thinks we don't need it anymore but i'm like, yes we do because I'd never know if something was wrong. That doesn't sit well with me. I'll use that monitor probably until he's 5 ot 6. rolling_smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I have one, but I have never used it for Mckaylee or Russell...Im a really light sleeper and their rooms are really close to ours.

Celestrina replied: We use one, but we only keep it downstairs so I know when he wakes up from his nap.
