Do you play a sport? Does your spouse?
coasterqueen wrote: Dh was subbing tonight for a men's softball game and while I was playing with the girls and watching him I wondered if anyone here plays sports currently. Do you and if so what? Does your spouse/ significant other and if so what?
coasterqueen replied: I used to bowl on a league, but quit when I was about 7 months pg with Kylie. I also had started golf lessons and planned on taking up golf before her but have never gotten back to it since. I only got to play one time. But to answer my own question, I play none currently. I hope to get back into the swing of things with golf, bowling and tennis here in the future.
Dh used to bowl on the same league as me. He used to play paintball, softball and golf. Now he just does it every now and then when someone needs a sub. So he really doesn't play anything regularly.
luvmykids replied: In the old days (before kids) I used to play sand volleyball, softball and play in a pool league (I guess that isn't really a sport LOL)
Now I just play golf and hopefully will be rodeoing again soon.
Jeff is an avid golfer and because of that doesn't have time for anything else anymore
jaytrevjax replied: I played soccer in high school, but now a days, I just play in the back yard with my boys. So, in a leauge, nothing, but almost everything in my back yard, if that counts!
Nina J replied: DH plays golf, and tennis occassionaly. I don't play any sports reguarly, sometimes I play golf.
Jamison'smama replied: DH plays softball every Wednesday and golf occasionally. I play nothing!
Boys r us replied: I play Mommy! Dh plays golf with his buddies sometimes when he has time, maybe 1 or 2 times a month, which frankly is about all I would stand for when he has a family at home!
coasterqueen replied: I can understand that, wanting him home. The girls and I actually love it when Dh plays softball because we can go and watch. I LOVE watching Dh play. I get to see another side of him I don't see all the time. And the girls love to play with the other kids.
But golf, well not much of a spectator sport.
Our Lil' Family replied: If y'all consider offroading a sport then DH would qualify. Since he's been in school he hasn't had much time for it but he lives for it on his off time! He has a Jeep Wrangler that he's put so much time and money into. I don't usually mind but sometimes it gets annoying because that's all that comes out of his mouth, something about Jeepin'. I think he's going to go riding tomorrow with his friends, the first time in almost a year!!
mom21kid2dogs replied: Stephen is very coordinated and can play about any sport. He golfs regularly (he's playing right now) . We were both on a bowling league years and years ago. He's good, I suck. I did get a trophy, however, for bowling 100 pins over my average one night!! He has played on a church softball league when he has time.
The only things I can do that require coordination is swim, walk and ride a bike!
moped replied: Golf golf...........I shop!
mom21kid2dogs replied: I used to go and walk along with Stephen all the time. I love looking at the golf courses, watching him play, etc. I still walk along as O is learning. I think the sport is interesting, I'm just not "sporty".
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Scotty doesn't have the time for sports. He works 6 days a week, 14 hours a day and when he isn't working he is spending time with his family. I do wish he had more time for sports b/c I think it would be good for him. But he does workout at the gym.
I don't play any sports...just workout at the gym. I'm starting tennis in the fall when the kids go to school. I'm really looking forward to that b/c I love tennis and played all thru jr high/high school.
MommyToAshley replied: I used to play on a softball league, but haven't in years. I do miss it though.
DH and I work out at the Y, but that is about it.
A&A'smommy replied: nah I don't but I want to play next year it seems like a great way to get in shape and tons of fun!!
Jackie012007 replied: DF plays paintball and backyard football with his friends occaisonally. I played Field Hockey, was a cheerleader and swam competitively. I also did dance... now I do pilates and walk my hyper dog
ions_momma replied: Dh plays basketball, ALL the time!! He used to play college ball, but he graduated so now he just plays for fun with his friends, and on a 3 on 3 league at our YMCA. I havent play sports since high school. I used to play basketball, and I also ran track for two years, but now the only exercise I really do is working out a few times a week!
Boo&BugsMom replied: Troy (Oaf) played football in high school, actually got a scholarship to play in college but lost it due to injuries in his first semester. He plays softball on Tuesdays for our church league right now. I was in Poms in high school, but I am not in a sport right now.
paradisemommy replied: well we always have at least one, usually two sports going on at any given time but only dh plays..volleyball, softball, basketball and flag football...he's quite the athlete!
garrettsmom replied: DH used to play softball, but hurt his knee and can't anymore, now he tries to play golf. I play tennis and rollerblade.
CantWait replied: Nope I haven't in years. Ron play soccar (both indoor and outdoor), basketball, and volleyball.
kit_kats_mom replied: Apologizing in advance to all of you who have not been here as long as some of us...

Brias3 replied: I play tennis once in awhile and we'll both golf occasionally. My husband is also on a men's adult softball league and has been each year for as long as I can remember. He played football in high school and college, as well as semi-pro for two years while we were engaged and will still play for fun but not through a team anymore.
luvmykids replied: I agree, I loved to go even before I started playing. It's a lot harder than it looks! And the kids love to golf too, I take them with me all the time, we wait until around 4 when it clears out and they can hit too.
paradisemommy replied: omg..cary you crack me up...ok ok..hang on - let me go find you a pic
coasterqueen replied: Oh, don't get me wrong I LOVE watching Ryan play golf or our lobbyists for that matter. But in 95 degree heat w/100% humidity? Uh, no thanks.
redchief replied: I played baseball, football and basketball. I ran track (I was awful at that; don't know what I was thinking there). I played softball for about 10 years after high school until I ripped my right rotator cuff (now I throw like a girl... sorry ladies, but that's the best explanation I have). I also water skiied and surfed. Now I bowl recreationally on occasion. I miss my old body.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I dont play any sports DH plays golf
paradisemommy replied: this is this year's pic from his volleyball team he just got done playing for..
luvmykids replied: Can I just say WOOOOO HOOOO! I'll put it nicely, you have a very good looking DH!
holley79 replied: We both use to play coed softball. We are talking about getting back into it next season. loved it.
ashtonsmama replied: Ryan used to play on a baseball team here, but quit last season, at the end he just didn't have the time for practices and games, so he decided to take a break. I know he liked it though, and he does occasionally have "guy's night" with his buddies from that league, so that helps them keep the connection I suppose. I swam, danced, played volleyball and softball in HS and college, so I think it's about time for a break from sports for me now. But I do want to get back into excercise here once I can drop Ashton at our gym's childcare...
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I am not athetic AT ALL, but I've always been a good dancer, so does that count? I was on drillteams in HS and cheerleading. I'm also into any type of aerobic exercise, especially kickboxing! But when it comes to an actual sport, like something with a ball, no way.
DH played football in HS and ice/roller hockey in college. Right now he plays only golf because he tore his ACL playing hockey. He also mountain bikes sometimes.
TheOaf66 replied: I play softball and with my youth group play a lot of volleyball as well, I try to be active as possible, although I could always use more
jcc64 replied: Dh is a major jock- plays and coaches baseball every day during the season. Plays basketball in a mens' league and runs the flag football league in town as well. The way he runs around with the kids, you'd think he was still 12.
I used to be a jock as well- swam competitively for many years- won the Jr Olympics back in the day. Capt of field hockey team, ran track, blah blah blah. Now all I do is spectate at my kids' events.
And of course, we all ski and board as much as the weather will allow, which, last year, wasn't much.
Sports is like breathing to us.
