Do you like yardwork?

luvmykids wrote: I always *think* I hate it, but once I get going I really enjoy it. I guess it's the thought of all that needs to be done that overwhelms me, plus the fact that I'm inexperienced laugh.gif

But it's actually kind of theraputic for me once I start, and you can't beat it for some instant gratification. If only an hour on housework made such a difference rolling_smile.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: If it's in the shade planting flowers and such. Not the normal stuff like mowing the lawn.

Calimama replied: I don't do the lawn or stuff like that but I've planted flowers in the front. It's fun!

redchief replied: I like yard work. Now if I just had a yard. rolling_smile.gif

My dad, who owns the other half of our building, does most of the yard work. It's kind of his baby and I'd never take that away from him.

HuskerMom replied: I don't like mowing and stuff like that. I'd love to plant flowers but I can't seem to keep them alive. laugh.gif

Twelve Volt Man replied: I really don't mind it. There's just something satisfying about working outside all day, making the yard look great, then sitting on the patio with a cold drink, admiring the hard work that went into it. Perhaps it's just my way of justifying sitting on the patio with a cold drink. biggrin.gif

lovemy2 replied: I LOVE yard work - even mowing the lawn - it is therapeutic and it is a good justification for sitting with a cold drink afterwards tongue.gif My DH and I take great pride in the curb appeal of our house - it isn't real fancy or anything but is always neat and clean looking.....

luvmykids replied:
OK then come do mine rolling_smile.gif Neat and clean is what I'm after but don't ever seem to get quite that far laugh.gif I'm just now raking up leaves from last fall that are stuck under things, and trying to keep up with apples that for some weird reason are falling off my NINE apple trees even though they're not even near ripe.

Why would anyone plant NINE of the same fruit tree, anyway? wacko.gif

amynicole21 replied: I really like it - as long as it isn't 250 degrees outside... which it almost always is here in Orlando. dry.gif

That has been happening to my orange trees, too. I remember seeing something online about why that happens - I'll have to go look it up again. Have you fertilized them in a while?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: HATE IT! Dh hates it too, that's why our yard looks like poop! We are the house on the block with the weeds the size of our kidds, no kidding! The front looks okay, but the back is embarassing! We've been trying to get a landscaper to commit to doing some general work, planting some trees and cleaning up our rock, but they never show! He is supposed to come out Monday, but this is like the third or fourth attempt. growl.gif I do like to plant flowers sometimes...but it's usually 20 minutes max, a few pots, and I'm done! wink.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
EXACTLY like me. I love planting and landscaping. Other than that, I really don't care for it, but once I accomplish something I love sitting back and looking at our hard work done. I feel like I was useful after I'm done.

CantWait replied:
I'm with you. I always dread having to mow the lawn, or deweed the garden, but once it's done, I feel great.

Mowing is a great workout, and I always enjoy the way the flowers look after planting or plucking the weeds.

3xsthefun replied: I don't mind doing it that includes mowing. But Rob likes doing the mowing and weedeating I just let him do it. I do plant the flowers myself though.

holley79 replied: I love working out in the yard. It is very theraputic for me also. I don't know what the heck I'm doing but somehow I make it looks nice afterwards.
