Do you guys know anything about... - brown recluse spiders?
HuskerMom wrote: I found this spider in my living room downstairs this morning. My cat must've killed it sometime during the night. I don't know if it's a brown recluse or not but it was the biggest hairiest brown spider I've ever seen. If I would've been thinking I would've taken a picture to post. I'm kinda freaking out does anyone know anything about them?
Farelle replied: I don't know a whole lot about them, ou can prob look it up, but I did get a NASTY email last week about how bad a bite from them can be. I didn't check to see if it was true, but I do think I remember hearing before that their bites can be bad. Good thing for your kitty!! Any spider freaks me out!!!!!!

OMG I hate spiders! We have BOTH of those here in H*ll's 1/2 acre...The wolf spiders are everywhere this year and it is supposed to be a bad year for recluses with all the rain
I do know however that the Recluse is just that ,a recluse so to find one in the open would be weird unless you have been cleaning closets out or moving things around..then you can stir them up
The bite is very dangerous! They have a poison that eats away at your flesh and will make HUGE holes and basically rot you! It is treated with antibiotics but it is pretty bad just the same!
grapfruit replied: They are pretty nasty. I looked at them again and they gave me the shivers.
lovemy2 replied: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Cece00 replied: I just want to say I hate ANY and ALL spiders. Ick.
grapfruit replied: Maybe I should have found "less creepy" pictures of those spiders...if that sort of thing exists. I think they're running everyone out of the thread!
Kentuckychick replied: Of course without a picture I can't say for certain, but if it was big and hairy it likely wasn't a brown recluse... of course, no less disturbing and disgusting!!!
We actually have had one in our basement before and it fell and landed on my hand (scared the living daylights out of me!) I wouldn't go in the basement for months. And my mom was bit once many years ago by what we guess must have been a young spider and had a spot on her hand that "sloughed" off repeatedly for nearly a year... twas purdy deesgusting but it eventually healed
They definitely aren't something to play around with.
HuskerMom replied: Well I feel a little better, it didn't look like either of those thank God. It kinda looked like a small brown tarantula. It was maybe 3 inches long and maybe 1 1/2 inches wide. I'll have to google it maybe I can find a picture.
PrairieMom replied: I would still be passed out from the shock.
HuskerMom replied: I'm just glad I found it dead. If it was alive I would've died right there.
luvbug00 replied: ewww the pictures made me lightheaded. EWWWWWWWW
kit_kats_mom replied: I would have lost my bananas then found a phone and called my DH to come and kill it....no matter where he was. I am a serious arachnaphobe. They literally make me sick.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I killed a wolf spider in my bathroom the other day. I would say he was about the size of a quarter. We have spider spray in the house so I didn't actually have to get near it. I got heebies now. Ew.
