Did you know? - shoe size

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: I took the kids to Payless last Friday to get Wil some new tennis shoes. The sales woman asked to measure his feet. He measured a 9.5 and she said that kids' feet go up a HALF a size every THREE months! I couldn't believe this! And here's the embarassing part, I had him wearing a size 8! ohmy.gif She also told me to go UP a half a size, so we tried on 10's and they fit him perfectly! My poor kid. sad.gif I feel awful. Size 8 to 10 is a huge jump! blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif No wonder he was complaining that his feet hurt last week while we were walking around the zoo. bawling.gif

amynicole21 replied: I know - I have to sqeeze the toes of the kids' shoes every day almost just to see if they have outgrown them yet rolleyes.gif

PrairieMom replied:
I did the same thing. Ben went from a 8 to 10's this fall. He never complained a bit that his feet hurt. Sizes aren't consistent tho, his walmart 10 sandals are HUGH and his nike Tennis shoes are just right. huh.gif My little Al went from size 3 tennis shoes to 5's.

luvmykids replied: Same thing when Colt got new boots for school...he was wearing a 10.5 and needed a 12, I felt SO bad!

I've had to buy all the kids new shoes at least once since August ohmy.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: dont feel bad, Kaitlin jumped like that once.

coasterqueen replied:
So did Kylie. However Megan has been in a size 5 for 6 months if not longer. rolleyes.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Oh goodness we have done that only we went from like a 7 to and 8 1/5 wink.gif

we try to always stay a half a size too big just to make sure she doesn't outgrow them in less than a month wink.gif

My2Beauties replied: Really? Hanna was in an 8 for over 6 months, her feet are teeny though, I have friends whose kids are younger than her that are in 9's and 10's, her feet have never grown fast though. She is just now to where an 8.5 won't fall off her feet, so I bought her an 8.5 pair of shoes for her b'day, but she can still fir her 8's just fine.

kimberley replied: happy.gif i learned that the same way you did. don't feel bad. who would ever think their tiny feet would grow like weeds dunno.gif

moped replied: I didn't know that but I do know that Jacks feet grow fast!!!!! Thats ok I love to buy shoes! tongue.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Wow, Rae. Logan is in a size 6. And they're big and he's been wearing them for 6 months. Logan is just not the typical growth pattern, I suppose.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: hug.gif I did the same thing to Claudia! We've learned now to measure her feet when we get shoes or boots. hug.gif

Calimama replied:
Same here!! It's a great excuse to buy more.

Ata's Mummy replied: that means i gonna be a big, shoe collectioner ohmy.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I did that with Katy. she was wearing 4's and when I took her in to get new shes she measured at a 5.5
We have been having a lot of fun with shoes. Katy has been in 11's for over a year, Matt has gone from 10--13/1 in teh same time frame. that kid has some monster feet. JOhnny is currently hanging between 0-6 and 6-12 robeez...his feet grow nice and slowly for mommy smile.gif
