Did anyone have a monster under the bed?

MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: I never had a monster, but I had little gnomes that I was convinced were going to eat my toes. I used to literally leap out of bed, I had to get at least 3 feet away before I was safe from the gnomes. To this day, I still have to think about it before I get out of bed. emlaugh.gif blush.gif

CantWait replied: I use to jump from one end of the room onto the bed because I was convinced there was a monster or a bad guy under my bed sad.gif

3xmommy replied: [FONT=Optima]Girl, as a child, I thought there were monsters EVERYWHERE! At night, I thought they were in the kitchen, bathroom, living room, under my bed... everywhere. LOL

mummy2girls replied:
blush.gif me too! to this day i sometimes run to my room after i shut off all the lights and jump onto my bed with my heart racing. Its doesnt happen evetry night just after i watch a scarey movie...LOL. no wonder guys keep dumping me sad.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
After I watch a scary movie I have to check the doors and windows at least 3 times before I go to bed. And if I get up to pee, then I have to check them again. You're not alone there, Shelly.

luvmykids replied:
Me too! I never thought there were monsters but at my gparents house my room had wood inlay in the walls and I always thought the knot holes in the dark were ghosts on the wall.

PrairieMom replied: I didn't have monsters, but ever since I watched ET as a child, I can't sleep with my closet door open. That freaky little alien scares me to death!
I have a red birth mark over my heart, and my Mom used to call it my "heart Light" like on ET.

C&K*s Mommie replied: "Bad Jennifer" lived under my bed, as a kid according to my brother. This was also the same "Bad Jennifer"(aka imaginary friend) that he (my brother) always 'played' with as a child. She would "take" his toys, and would hide in a corner of a room, when my mother would walk in. This "girl" mysteriously disappeared the day I was brought home from the hospital. I would have to leap, too. In fear that she would grab me. blink.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I was convinced that there were dinosaurs in the closet in my sister's room - I slept on her floor right by the closet door a lot (she never got over me moving into my own room rolleyes.gif ) and I was always so scared that the dinosaurs were going to come out. tongue.gif

And I was terrified of being downstairs by myself at night with all the lights off. I'd go down for a drink of water and on the way back up I'd have to shut off the kitchen light, then the hall light, then the light over the stairs and then it would be dark and I'd race up the stairs as fast as I could and run and jump into my bed and hide under the covers until I was convinced nothing was coming to get me. This wasn't just when I was a kid either... it continued way into my teen years. I actually still have a hard time going up the stairs at night by myself ~ I always feel like something is behind me. noooooo.gif

mummy2girls replied: i needed this laugh! you guys are a riot!

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
That's funny. That made me remember - I was afraid of snakes under my bed. I'd never ever let my feet dangle over the edge of the bed and I'd always jump into my bed from a few feet away. tongue.gif Where did we get these ideas? Actually most of mine probably came from my sister ~ she was always trying to freak me out. She once told me that a cougar lived in her closet, and one night she told me a story of a one-eyed vulture that flew around looking for something to eat. blink.gif How ironic that she was the one with nightmares!

holley79 replied: My sister and I shared bunk beds. She was younger then I was by 4 years. I was convinced there was a bad person under the bed that was going to hurt her so I would put her on the top bunk with me. To this day my mom still talks about it.

MamaJAM replied: Not under the bed.....but I had a man in my wall.
When my parents had central airconditioning installed (I was maybe 5-6 years old) - I was getting ready to go to school and ran back to my bedroom where one of the workers was just starting to cut a hole in my wall for a vent. I didn't think anything of it until I got home later that evening and the workers were gone....including the man in my room. But there was a vent in my wall. For some reason - I thought the guy had climbed into the hole and was watching me from in there. rolleyes.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: laugh.gif Same here, Kelly!
