Dh just mentioned he needs to go out - this weekend to get moms day gift

He usually does pretty well Last year it was a flower pot with the kids pics as flowers. Tonight (thursday) he says he needs to go out this weekend to get something for mothers day. Why can't he think ahead and no I don't think he already did something. If he did it would be a first. Why does it have to suck like this?

coasterqueen replied: Could it possibly be a money issue as to why he hasn't done it before now? I know money is budgeted tight in our house and since we don't use credit cards all things have to be done last minute for everything. Just wondering if that might be it.

P.S. If it makes you feel better I know Dh and Kylie made me something tonight when I went into town. I know he sent me in town on purpose so he could make something. I was fine with it though because I got a nice relaxing evening out even if I was buying cleaning supplies.

No I know it is not a money thing because I control the money and he has a little cash right now anyway. He has no regard for money most times and he just spends and then tells me what he spent or he asks what he can use to get something. I know I shouldn't be too upset but it one thing I ask for in a year and it is important to me since I don't get many thanks during the year KWIM? anyways we will see what happens on mothers day. Who knows I could be writing an apology post on sunday..lol

Kaitlin'smom replied: Dont feel bad my DH will also be shopping on Sat for it he was going to last night but forgot his money. He is not crafty so I wont get anything made but bought. I am sure the pre-school will have them make soemthing, for me I think that will be better than anything he could buy.

maybe he is busy...maybe things come up he cannot control. im sure its not becuase he forgot. so i guess since i have to go out tonight or tomorrow to get something im a bad guy too?

I didn't mean it like that it is just that last night was his chance to get something done without me. Now we will be together so he is not going to have time to "surprise" me. I didn't mean that all guys are bad. I know most wait to the last min. I just felt like he could have done something last night while I was out. Sorry didn't mean to offend any of you guys.

Ryan--I don't know what he's doing, but he always waits until the LAST minute with b-days and Christmas, but always pulls off something adorable, so as long as it's good, I could care less when he gets it together!

It doesnt matter to me when he gets the gift or whatever, I always know I'll get something special even if that means I have to remind him 100 times or make suggestions.

ZandersMama replied: Last year for mothers day I recieved a new car seat for our son who was just outgrowing his infant seat. VERY thoughtful. maybe this year i'll get a potty.

This year I took it upon myself to get my own gift!! DH hates shopping and especially on his own...no excuse I know...but if I had told him what to go get me he would just say here's some money get what you want or he would want me to go with him.
He is very thoughtful in other ways though without surprising me with gifts.
