Debt Diet - 7-28

coasterqueen wrote: Is anyone saving money today? biggrin.gif

I have to get my oil changed. It's a must, I'm many moons over needing it done. blush.gif So that's $20.00 right off the bat out of my spending money.

I'm itching to spend a little of my spending money, but have to be good because we have company coming this weekend and we usually take them out for dinner and breakfast.

I'm gonna hit the rock store. I want to get some big rocks for around my mailbox. If I can get some cheap I'll buy. If not, I won't.

Oh need to get a diaper pail refill so that's $5.

That should be it for me today, unless the girls want something from the snack bar at the baseball field tonight. thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: nope not today, I have to pay bills not to mention the chunk of change to the fence company I wrote this morning. wacko.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: No we're paying billls dry.gif
BUT tomorow we're not going anywhere (as far as i know) so we shouldn't be spending anything. So saving about $30 over a regular weekend...

AlexsPajamaMama replied: payed bills and bought groceries sad.gif
DH starts vacation from work today...soo who knows how the money spending will go for the week to come!
wacko.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: $25 copay for Thomas this morning. He had 102.5 fever....but nothing wrong with him dunno.gif It might be roseola that my neighbors daughter had a couple weeks ago, won't know till a rash appears.

DH is stopping off for needed items. I'm glad it's him spending the $ and not me, I'm tired of being the one to spend $.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I have no plans to spend any money today. wink.gif

My2Beauties replied: I went out to lunch with some girls from work - $15.00 ohmy.gif I had a steak blush.gif I'm so terrible. blush.gif Other than that I won't spend any more money today.

PrairieMom replied: I'm proud of myself today. I went to the mall so The Boy could play in the play land. (its 100 degrees here) I even looked at some back to school clothes for him and some sale items for The Girl, but I didn't spend a dime!

I had to get some Medications refilled tho, and some Gynelotrimin for porr Alexis, so I spent $80.00 at the pharmacy. dry.gif I resisted fast food temptation and and a TV dinner from the freezer instead!

They are having a big luggage sale at Sears tho, and I really need more luggage for our trip in 2 months, so I may be going back to the mall tonight after i talk with DH. We will see.

coasterqueen replied: Well I did REALLY well today. I'm so proud of myself. biggrin.gif My oil change was free, so that was cool. thumb.gif

I never made it to the rock place, so no expense there.

Spent $19.85 at the health food store on food.

Window shopped at Old Navy and Bed Bath and Beyond...didn't buy a thing. I wanted to really bad, but I asked myself if I REALLY needed the items I wanted and my answer was no, so I didn't buy them. thumb.gif

I was also starving since I hadn't had lunch yet, but decided to wait til I got home. So no fast food for me. biggrin.gif Course I didn't get to eat lunch til 2:30. rolleyes.gif

So I spent $19.85 and that's all I should be spending today.

holley79 replied: Looks like you are all doing really well.

The only thing I bought today was diapers. That was 20.00. I had lunch with the guys and that was free. LOL. Other then that, no other spending. rolleyes.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: I didnt spend any money today, but thats because there was none to spend!
However I did go thru the cubboards and make a list of what meals we could eat for the week, and make sure we had enough food.
I also planned out what DH can take for his lunchs.

He said he has over half tank of gas, so he shouldnt need gas, and I will just glue my butt to the couch, so I dont spend!

However if we tithe this week, we need to with draw it from savings, is that what you would do???

I feel like I should if I am to make an honest attempt to spend our money the right way.....

Brias3 replied: Today was just $10 for a couple of cards at Walgreens, a popsicle for each of the kids at the city beach where Ryan and Aliyah took a swim class (it was their last day and I promised the three something from the snack bar on their last day), and then I'll be taking my parents, two of my siblings and my grandparents out to dinner tonight.

PrairieMom replied: if it were me , i think i would give something, but not tithe since i was strapped.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
I do that too!! Helps out alot when it comes time to find something for dinner, I just check " the menu " and there we go!

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Oh hun...you are so honest. Do NOT tithe this week. wink.gif The rafters won't fall, I promise you. hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I saved money today. biggrin.gif

A penny saved is a penny earned thumb.gif

PrairieMom replied: Tonight we went to cold stone for ice cream. dry.gif but it was yummy! We got a small and shared it, so I guess in a way, we saved. laugh.gif

3_call_me_mama replied:
OOOOHHH ! I love cold stone!!!! And i definately knwo how you saved by only getting a small and sharing!! They are pricey!! (BUT Oh so worth it on occasion.. (We go when we visit teh inlaws in massachusetts. It's the closest one~ good thing I don't crave it when PG or DH would be driving 6 hours to get icecream!!) wink.gif
