Daycare and Fence issue update - I have such a headache.

The fence people are making the veins in my forehead buldge though. They installed the fence backwards, and we received a citation and now are trying to get it fixed. They say it will be virtually impossible to flip the fence around. I think that there just isn't an easy way to do it and they are just trying to get out of it. My head is really going to explode.

J-rod replied: dont mean to be a jerk...but are you trying to get them to flip it for free? even after you or DH told them pretty side in? if so i can see why they dodging you...maybe if you guys can make some sort of payment ammends to get them to come out.

amynicole21 replied: Yes, they need to do it for free and I'm SURE that's why they're dodging me. They never pulled the permit for the fence like they are required to, and had they done so they would have known that the code says it must be good side out. I'm sure they know that anyway since they've been in business in this county for over 20 years. They know they need to take care of it, and the county knows it was their error too and have been calling them to get it corrected.

I'm holding them responsible since they are the professionals and are supposed to be the ones to tell me if something can or cannot be done. We finally found the code after searching online for hours last night - it's not something we would have been able to find easily had DH actually done the research he should have anyway

J-rod replied: oh ok...yea i can see where since they didnt pull a permit would put them at fault.

have you spoke to a reporter, maybe a DA, or checked them on the BBB?

DH is threatening going to the newspaper if it isn't resolved. He hasn't told them that yet, though. We'll give them one more chance to make it better, then we're going to get after them!

And as for the fence they should have known reguardless if they had a permit or not go figure I guess they didnt want to deal with the paper work or writing out a check for the permit

Boo&BugsMom replied: Amy, could you explain the "good side" vs. "bad side" of the fence? I didn't know there was a good and bad side which is why I ask. I'm not following.

Hope you can get it resolved though.

On the good side, you can see only the boards. On the "bad side" you can see the beams and supporting materials.

holley79 replied: I'm so soryr you are having fence problems but glad you go day care taken care of. I hope you are able to get your fence fixed soon. Is the county citing you for the fence or them. Please tell me you aren't going to have to pay fines.

We received the citation, but when we told them which fence company we were using, they were shocked that this particular company wouldn't have pulled a permit or known about the ordinance. Right now, we aren't accumulating fines because they know we are trying to work everything out. It could get to the point where BOTH of us start accumulating fines, though
