Dang Verizon DSL - RANT


J-rod wrote: well i was supposed to have DSL set up friday...well NOBODY showed up. Steph sat there for 8 hrs waiting. then she gets online (DU) and it says our new setup will be later. so she calls and they say the tech said there was a service problem needed work...WTF how do they know if nobody showed up. not even a phone call telling us whats up. they tell her it be on the 21st now. so i get home and call and complain about nobody showing up, nobody calling and whatnot...well they transfer me to the supervisor. she is busy and they take my number to have her call me....guess what nobody called. so i called again this morning and was peeved off. tell them cable company can be here and installed this week .they take my number to have their engineering dept call me. so waiting on that call.

i think its BS cause the verizon DSL line is already in the house from the last homeowner....and her dad (works for verizon) checked it all for power and that its good.


rant verizon is being run by idiots.

Sorry they are giving you fits over something that should otherwise be easily resolved, such as a priority set up, hopefully they will own up to their lack of customer service and get their rears in gear.

we got the kit days ago...but free install was part of the deal so we took it.

ive called every day since...talked to a supervisor and then am told its an engineering problem.....well those ******* in engineering havent called back for two darn days....and i called again....told the same thing...bitched the lady out and hung up....so baisically i have to sit here on my ass hoping they call back....


im looking into another phone service provider if i can....i dont think there is though.

I know bell south offers DSL - and if I remember correctly, so does AT&T

ETA - I thought you were looking for a phone provider. So I had to take out the VOIP part smile.gif

now it barely hangs up (wall mount)

mom2my2cuties replied: our cordless handset is making some strange noises and is just not working well after me talking to the movers yesterday on the phone.

J-rod replied: its easy, i did my mom's..... but they are saying its a problem with my line. so even if i set it up it wont work.... they draggin their feet fixing the problem.

mom2my2cuties replied: One suggestion - never ask them if you were threatening to drop a bomb off at thier local call center if they would get it on any faster. My husband did that because someone there accidentally turned off our DSL and they were going to take 2 weeks to get it back on smile.gif
