Daddy arts and crafts.. VENT

Calimama wrote: Miabella's tumbling class had a Valentine's day party this morning instead of a regular class. Well they had different activities and one of them was a "Daddy and me" art project. Of course my baby is one of the 2 children who didn't have a daddy to do this craft with. So I thought I would distract her and we would just skip that station and do all the other ones. No luck, she finishes the other stations and then runs to this one while they are explaining how to take daddy's hands and dip them in paint, etc. She watches for a second and I didn't think she noticed until she goes, "MY daddy?" and starts looking around for him. Then when she can't find him, she cries.

I know I'm taking it personal but why would they plan an activity for this group knowing one kids dad passed away THIS year and one kids dad is deployed?? There are only 10 kids in the group! Couldn't they have done a "family member and me" craft? Or something?

Obviously they just weren't thinking. I'm sure they did not mean to bring attention to the missing Daddys and I know you have to be upset about it. How could you not? Your little girl was looking for her Daddy.

sparkys2boys replied: I am sure they didn't mean anything by it hun. I feel really bad for you, if it had been me I would have just jumped in and said we will make one for daddy instead.

Kind of off subject but....
You know I was at the store earlier getting DH stuff for his cold. And I saw a stone hand print kit (like those garden stepping stones), and it makes like 6 I think. Anyway I bought one to do of Braedin and I started thinking about you and Bella and I was like that would be so neat to do of Bella for Antonio to have when he gets back.
