DO you know anyone who has

Boys r us wrote: gotten pg by someone who has had a vasectomy?

Danalana replied: Yes....but it's because he (my uncle) had a reversal done. Other than that, i don't know of anybody.

Cece00 replied: Yes. And I know someone who has gotten pregnant after a tubal.

I also know someone who has become fertile after chemo (my husband).

gr33n3y3z replied:
yes a few and I'm not one of them
Knock on wood lol

lovemy2 replied: Yes - I know someone whose DH had a vasectomy and she had a tubal and still got preg - in my mind though - that was fate - that baby was meant to be wub.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: No, but my SIL had a PG scare about 2 years ago.

Kaitlin'smom replied: Nichole????? are we worried about something?

and yes I do know of someone who did, but only because her DH did not do the follow up and there for had no clue it did not take.

Our Lil' Family replied: Yes, 15 years later....and they are in their mid 40's.

My2Beauties replied: no I don't know anyone, but I do know that the man can still be fertile approximately 3 months after the vasectomy is done and that they need check-ups every so often because the procedure can become undone somehow.

msoulz replied: No, but I do know of a woman who had a "miracle baby" after her husband had the big V and even though he tested having no sperm in his semen.

Oh yeah, she forgot to tell him about the guy at work . . .

Actually we don't know if she did tell him and they worked it out but to most of the family she was a miracle!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Yep...It can absolutely happen! ohmy.gif

A&A'smommy replied: yes two actually by the same man laugh.gif

moped replied: I sure hope not! LOL

No I don't personally.

My2Beauties replied: OK this post is scaring me guys...DH is probably be going to get the Big V in the next year or so, makes me wonder if it's even worth it, everyone knows someone who has gotten preggo. unsure.gif

Cece00 replied:
Every type of birth control has a failure rate.

Why not get a tubal at the same time he gets a vasectomy...it lessens the chances even more.

TheOaf66 replied: I can't read this post because when I get clipped I don't even want to think about it not working unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

My2Beauties replied:
I don't want a tubal, the women in my family have a long history of horrible female problems caused by tubal litigations. All the woman on my mom's side that has had one, has had to have or is scheduled to have hysterectomy's, every doctor said there are horrible side effects caused by tubals for some women, I don't want to take that chance.

Includes, heavy periods, and I mean extremely heavy, we're talking bleeding through a Super Plus Tampon, a super thick pad and through your underwear onto your pants within 45 minutes to an hour sad.gif

Cysts on ovaries

Horrible cramping

The list goes on and on

moped replied: I don't want a tubal either - Tom is going for the big V - and now i am scared too

lisar replied: My sisters dh had one done and right before my sister had her surgery he went to the dr and "shot" into a cup to make sure he was still that way. Apparently it can come back. He is supposed to go every 5 years and do it, but after my sisters surgery he doesnt bother cause she cant get pg anyways.

DVFlyer replied: I've heard of a couple of people.... neither of them went back to be tested after the procedure, though....

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
hee hee

ligations... not litigations

that common mistake makes me crack up everytime. My mom's a lawyer, and is involved in "litigations". rolling_smile.gif

My2Beauties replied:
blush.gif Oops! LOL!

Kaitlin'smom replied:
laugh.gif and her siggy just makes me really picture her laughing at us rolling_smile.gif

redchief replied: So long as there is no late recanalization of the vas, there is no possibility of fertilization after the wait period. The incidence of recanalization after the wait period is very, very rare. I found a neat site that speaks to recanalization of the vas:

Here is the entire page, in case you want to read all of the document.

As Lisa said, I had a vasectomy 14 years ago, with very little side effect, none of which was pregnancy. I also don't know anyone who had one and later got a woman pregnant. I wonder at all of the "others."

moped replied:
Good to know - I think Tom would happily skip to the hospital for it!!!! And he will

Thanks Ed!
