It's an Alligator Snapping Turtle, probably a pretty young one based on his size and weight (DH thinks about 40 lbs). They let it go on the course but I told him to take it back to the lake because they prefer deep water and he'll eat all the other cute little turtles tongue.gif

Crystalina replied: Yikes! We have those we find periodically in our yard because we have a small pond they must like. I'm always worried about the kids finding them. Ours are tiny though. About the size of a large box turtle. NOTHING like that! ohmy.gif

Is he gonna cook it?

luvmykids replied:
No, they're taking it back to the lake (I hope rolleyes.gif )

Crystalina replied:
Good for the turtle then. happy.gif

Here they would be saving him and cooking him up for Jamboree In The Hills. biggrin.gif

stella6979 replied: Wow, I've never seen one of those, but that thing is awesome!

A&A'smommy replied: WOW thats SO cool!!!!

luvmykids replied: I was just googling them, it's probably not a baby. They gain a pound a year which would mean he's 40 or so years old laugh.gif Which, actually is a baby considering they can live to be 150 rolling_smile.gif

I think DH might be sort of tempted to stuff it or something but he knows I'd throw him to the turtles where they found this one emlaugh.gif

3xsthefun replied: That is a pretty cool looking turtle! I don't think I've ever seen one like that one before.

Boys r us replied: blink.gif WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i've never seen a turtle like that before!

My3LilMonkeys replied: He would make some yummy soup! tongue.gif

luvbug00 replied: I cought one of those YEARS ago. like when i was 16 we just cut the line because i got it in the yapper and i was not about to stick my fingers in that things mouth.

luvmykids replied:
Yeah, they said they put an empty coke can in the cooler with him and he shredded it with one bite ohmy.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Those things don't mess around. We were just looking at them at the zoo today and I saw their tounges for the first time. Ewwww. They look like a lichen covered tree with a loose part on the end. He was wiggling it around just waiting for a fish to bite'

lovemy2 replied: I'm sorry and I don't know if we can say this on here but HOLY CRAP ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
