DH has been admitted into the hospital again.

Crystalina wrote: He was in the middle of tarping a load on his trailer when his vertigo hit again. The guys at the steel plant know him and were nice enough to get him off the trailer and sit him down until I could get there. We went straight to his doctor and she gave him some type of shot to stabilize him and then called the hospital to get him a room. She thinks he may have Ménière's Disease since simple vertigo should not come again so soon. His first (and last) attack was in May. Since then he's been taking Nasonex and Allegra daily to get rid of any fluid in his ear canal but apparently that isn't going to work. He's supposed to see an ear, nose and throat doc tomorrow and hopefully we can get a diagnosis so he can get on some meds to fix this. Apparently it's a disease he will have forever but with meds he can function and work.

So that's where I've been all day. sleep.gif

I have a question, did he have ear symptoms? I ask because last week I had an episode of vertigo and it was really bad but I didn't have anything with my ears that I noticed. I have noticed that I get dizzy quite often and also have passed out twice in the last couple of years. I'm just wondering if that is something I should look more into or if since I don't have the ear thing it would not be relevant.

Lots of hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif for you guys.

Crystalina replied:
I think he said that sometimes he gets a ringing in his ears but it isn't constant. I'm not sure that happened the first time but it did this time. He also gets very dizzy and has to vomit. Also his vision gets very blurry to where he can't see very well at all. It also makes him lean to one side.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

I checked in with and he has been hooked up to IV fluids and is supposed to see the specialist in the morning so as soon as I drop the kids off at school I'll be there.

My2Beauties replied: You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope they diagnose him soon and come up with a good treatment plan! Poor thing sad.gif

Crystalina replied: Thanks again everyone. He had a MRI this morning and he has been diagnosed with Ménière's Disease. He's getting one more per doc's request. He also had an audio test done and it's basically his left ear causing all the issues. He will be put on a meds for the rest of his life. It can't be fixed, only controlled. He should be fine after they figure out the right level on his meds. smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Woody's aunt has that. I had never heard of it before she was diagnosed. I hope he gets his meds straight and the episodes end. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: hug.gif that sucks but at least it can be controlled, I think my mom may have that she has CONSTANT vertigo issues
