Crockpot Question
mommymommy wrote: I really want a crockpot, but have no idea of what size to get! There are 3 of us, but dh eats like 2! I want to be able to do roasts and basically everything else in it! What size do you recommmend? What brand? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
lisar replied: I have a 6 quart for my family of 4. Roast fit fine and all that.
whitting713 replied: I have a 6 quart for my family of 3. I love the warming feature on it. When it's done with the cooking time, it switches to warm.
bawoodsmall replied: Is that the kind where you tell it how long and then it switches to warm? Does it work well? I can only do recipes that take forever cuz I am gone like 9 hours and whenever i tell dh to switch it off he forgets and my food is toast.
6 quart for the four of us.
whitting713 replied: Yes, that's exactly how it works. I haven't had any problems so far. I usually add just a little bit more liquid sometimes to make sure some things don't burn. I'm gone at least 10 hours every day.
lisar replied: Mine is the same way. I love that feature
luvmykids replied: I have three, I don't know what the sizes are but I have a tiny one I use for queso, etc, a medium one when it's just me and the kids, and a giant one when it's all of us.
Calimama replied: Sounds exactly like mine.
ZandersMama replied: I have a huge one, but I always cook enough that there is leftovers I don't really like cooking so more leftovers the less i have to cook later.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Make sure that the crock is removeable for easy clean up. I always spray mine with Pam before I use it to help with this also. I have the oval shaped one and I really like it. Warming feature is a great ting, too!
luvmykids replied: My big one is the oval, I love it!
MommyToAshley replied: Mine is oval too. When I make roast, there is usually enough left over for two more meals.
DillsMommy replied: Mine in also oval and 6qt. It's made by Hamilton Beach I believe. I love it.
