Corey's 1st Gymnastics meet

coasterqueen replied: How cute was she?!!!!! Wow, she's awesome. I had to laugh at the music, though. All gymnastics academies must use that music because I hear that music every Monday when girls at the academy practice their floor routine.

WTG Corey! I am so glad things went well and she was able to work through her performance anxiety. Did you do anything special to help prepare her or did she just work through it on her own?

To answer your question Dee Dee, I told her that even though there would be a lot of people watching her, no one really pays any attention to anyone other than their own kid, and I think that made her relax. You can see on her little face that she was still nervous, but the coaches really prepared them well for the whole experience, and the fact that all of her little teammates were right there cheering helped a lot too.
Yes, Jen, one of those people talking in the background is me--I'm the one that was asking someone if they thought her leotard fit her ok, the other voices are coaches.
And about the music, Karen, the reason you recognize that music is because it's compulsory for all level 4 gymnasts. Every kid in the USA Gymnastics organization performs the same routine to the same music. After 3 hrs in the gym, you want to shoot the speakers out, believe me.
Anyway, now she's on to the next meet on Sat. Wish us luck, and thanks again for your support, eveyone!

our 3 yr old is starting ballet, tap & gymnastics in a little less than 2 weeks and we're really hoping she likes the gymnastics part the best.

My2Beauties replied: She did AWESOME. Jeanne is she 5 or 6, I can't remember? She is wonderful for her age. I don't think any of the 5 & 6 year olds in Hanna's gym can do backflips like that! She is super cute and she did a wonderful job, I bet you are so super proud of her! WTG Corey!
