Colic - Have you had to deal with it?

Momof3inMe wrote: Leah seems very fussy 2 times a day. She is fussy in the morning and at night. She gets up most mornings between 8 and 9 and will have a 5oz bottle and will be fine for a little while and then will start fussing and all she wants you to do is hold her. I don't mind holding her I just cant get things done with her in my arms. I would love to use a front pack or anything like that but its been so hot here I cant so I just sit with her until she eats again around 12 then she will nap all afternoon until she eats again around 4 then she is right back at it she will fuss until bed time. If you hold she is fine but the second you put her down she is all upset again. I thought it was the heat its been so hot here but even when the heat has been down she is still fussy. I was just wondering if anyong had some advice on things that might work to make her happy.

MyLuvBugs replied: Well it definately doesn't sound like colic to me. Colic to me is screaming all the flippin' time and NOTHING will comfort them. KWIM? Lorelei had Colic (Ped Diagnosed) for a couple weeks right after she was born (like week 3 and 4), and it was the hardest time. sad.gif A baby swing and an exercise ball helped, gas drops also helped a little, but mainly just time was the thing that really worked. We were so lucky that it was only 2 wks.

Little Leah sounds like she just needs to be held for comfort. Maybe a little separation anxiety of some sort. have you talked with your Ped about it?

aspenblue1 replied: Could also be acid reflux esp if happening after feeding.

I also thougt about that but when she is ready for her nap in the afternoon she goes right to sleep after she eats. We go to the peds next week and I have lots of questions.

aspenblue1 replied: I will look for my link on acid reflux. Both of my girls had it.

Momof3inMe replied:
Thanks very much my 3 kids never had it so I dont know much about it.

Melmel replied: My daughter had Colic. If she was awake, she was screaming.... not fussy, screaming.
I held her a lot and just tried not to worry about the house. It was very difficult to get anything done. Just remember, this stage will be over soon and as long as the house is still standing, you can clean it then. biggrin.gif

ShezMyLilBubbleGrl replied: Our daughter is like this a few times a day but...not too the extreme. I believe all babies are somewhat colic lol

ShezMyLilBubbleGrl replied: And...our daughter ALSO has bad acid refluxe. She's on Zantac.
