Cleaning toys

PrairieMom replied: I put the hard plastic kind in the dishwasher. the plush/ stuff kind I throw in the washing machine.
amynicole21 replied: You can also use a bottle sterilizer if you have one. We usually just throw it in the dishwasher.
You can also kill dust mites on stuffed toys by putting it in a ziplock or plastic bag and placing it in the freezer for a few hours.
Rolan'sMom replied: Wow, thanks for the helpful hints!!!!!
MyLuvBugs replied: Gosh I'm horrible....The only toys I wash (and definately not on a regular basis) are stuffed animals in the washing machine. The rest ......well....a little dirt never hurt anyone. LOL
My3LilMonkeys replied: I'll join you in the horrible mom club! Ours only get washed if something gets spilled on them!
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: THat makes three of us
JadensMama05 replied: Make that 4...
CantWait replied: I soak blocks, lego and other hard plastic toys in a little bit of bleached water. Stuffies I put in the wash machine.
Now that I have a dishwasher, I'll have to try that.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I clean my daycare toys with a heavily diluted bleach and water solution. Sometimes clorox wipes if they are not mouthed toys. Dishwasher always works well and is safe without using chemicals besides the dishwasher soap.
I don't wash a lot of Tanner's personal toys either. Unless they are icky or really dusty. Just my daycare toys that need sanatizing to prevent the spread of germs.
Our Lil' Family replied: I'll be #5!
Cece00 replied: This is what I do, plus I wash stuffed toys/animals in the washing machine.
Brias3 replied: I don't wash that often anymore , I should I know. It's just that since we're out of (for the most part ) the put-it-in-your-mouth stage with toys, it slips my mind often.
Stuffed animals and things I'll throw in the washing machine. For other things, I'll either run them in the dishwasher (plastic items, etc.) or I'll just take a bottle of bleach water and spray things down and let it dry overnight.
This post reminds me though- I really should wash toys again, at least the most frequently used ones.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I should probably clean them more often than I do... I only spray them down with bleached water about once every 2 weeks... That or I toss them a fw at a time to soak in bleached water in the tub next to my washer.
