Christmas lights up?? - yet

C&K*s Mommie replied: As much as I would like to have christmas lights up this year outside (for the first time EVER!) we just got over having outrageous electricity bills, so we think we will hold off again to ease up on our budget. We hope to get a Christmas tree this weekend, and for the first time (for me at least) we will be getting a live tree. I prefer white lights, myself but DH has no preference, though. I have already warned him, that since it probably will end up tipped over on the floor, let us just plan on getting that Charlie Brown christmas tree.

PrairieMom replied: I don't think we are going to put up outside lights this year. we already have a couple feet of snow, so its not the best time to be crawling on the roof. The rest of the stuff is packed in the attic, and DH won't let me climb up there to get it, so who knows when this house will get decorated!

MyLuvBugs replied: We have some up, but we're waiting to decorate the trees until after lorelei's b-day. I wanted her to have a special B-day without it being a side note to Christmas.

coasterqueen replied: I've been working late hours after the girls go to sleep outside with a flashlight getting up my CHristmas lights. I didn't do the house, just bushes and other stuff, though. Didn't feel daring enough to get on a ladder in the dark.

Christmas tree is up and decorated and almost all my decor is done around the house. Still need to put up my angel on the tree (can't reach ) and we need to go buy our village piece and new ornament for this year.

Have all my Christmas shopping to do yet.

holley79 replied: "We" decorated the outside last night. I put "we" because Dh did it I ordered him around. This is the first year I wasn't able to get up there on a ladder.

We bought a new artifical tree at Hobby Lobby for 40% off. I love it. I was raised getting real trees but since the Hurricanes our Christmas tree farms are hurting.

We use colored and white lights an assorted ornaments. When we are putting them on the tree we talk about when we got each one. Some were before DH and I got together and some are since. I love Christmas.

redchief replied: Erin is our decorating committee and she's already planning on a "Griswold's" lighting scheme. Now would be a good time for all of you to buy stock in Atlantic City Electric Co. They're about to have a very profitable fourth quarter.

My3LilMonkeys replied: We don't decorate outside. DH won't go on the roof or a ladder and won't let me do it.

We get a real tree - I won't settle for anything less. I did compromise on the lights though - DH likes the tiny ones and I prefer the larger, old fashioned ones. We use the small colored lights.

We got our first real tree last year, and will do so again this year. We use white lights on ours.

Lol!! We just watched that. One of my all time favorites!

We have our trees up (artificial), one in the living room and then I bought a really inexpensive one for the dining foom this year. We use colored lights inside and outside so far we have white lights but only on the swing. Dh hasn't gotten around to doing anymore than that yet.

ediep replied: nope, nothings up yet here. We just finished painting our kitchen, family room, foyer, bathroom, and hall and we arewaiting on a carpenter to install new molding so our house is still a little upside down right now.....maybe we'll do the tree this weekend or next

booey2 replied: We don't do outside lights but we did put our tree about a week ago. We currently had a new window put in yesterday so maybe next year we will put up lights around it not sure.
