Christmas Shopping... - how is everyone doing?

Kirstenmumof3 wrote: I am usually finished by now! But with my new fear of malls, I don't seem to get out much anymore! I used our Airmiles and ClubZ points to save some money and got some nice presents for the kids. Last night I finally broke down and ordered from the Sears Wishbook. So here is what I have already

For Emily (8):

Shrinky Dink Maker
Sewing machine
Sewing kit
64 piece easy bake oven baking set

For Spencer (6):

Playmobile Police Station
Snake Pit Roller Coaster
Air Hog motor cycle
Bob the Builder figure with working chainsaw

For Claudia (13 1/2 mths):
Little Tikes Discovery Sounds Playhouse

Me and my brothers girlfriend are going Christmas Shopping on Friday and i hope to make a bigger dent that way I'm not rushing around Christmas Eve!

aspenblue1 replied: I haven't even started. I am so far behind. everything I bought for Isabella I already gave her.

Kaitlin'smom replied: wheew with all the people I need to buy for I would said I have a good start, but sooo need to get more done. I am hoping this weekend I will get at least the kids finished. I hope to be done by early Dec so i can put my mind on Kaitlin's first birthday.

coasterqueen replied: So far I've gotten:

I bought my mom a porceline Angel for her collection that will be from Kylie.

I got Kylie:

A dress, hat, tights - outfit
Little Tikes Rockin' Puppy
Little Tikes Grocery Cart
Baby Eistein flash cards

That's all I got so far wink.gif We probably won't get Kylie too much more. I know I want to get her the Hokey Pokey Elmo since she loves Elmo. I am also going to make her an Elmo fleece blanket (that no sew fleece blanket idea). But she will get so much from everyone else that we can get buy with just giving her a few gifts.

Last year we decided on Dh's side of the family that we only buy for the kids and not the adults. It's just too crazy trying to buy for all the adults and the kids. We all enjoy just watching the kids open presents and Christmas isn't to us what it is to the kids, KWIM wink.gif So we all usually spend a bit more on the kiddos.

On my mom's side of the family, we stopped buying for extended family last year, but still buy for my parents and my sister, and grandparents. So I gotta get them all done yet.

Dh and I don't usually buy each other much. We get things we want all year so it's no big deal. Since we are pretty short on Christmas $$$ funds this year, we'll probably skip buying for each other and concentrate on Kylie. She also "needs" many things like snowsuit, boots, shoes, clothes, etc that those are more important than us this year. smile.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I've gotten some shopping done.... but we're getting tighter on money, so we can't get much expensive stuff...and we have a lot of "mandatory" people to get for.

But, I will also be making homemade stuff like bath fizzies, canisters of treats, coffee mixes, soaps etc..... way cheaper, personalized...and nice.

I have:

mom
book of hard crosswords (she loves them and can never find a book of them)
bottle of White Diamonds by Liz Taylor
a shmuzzle (puzzle which is double sided and all the pieces are shaped the same)

my grandmother
??

my grandfather
??

my brother
??

Dh's mom
??

Dh'd dad
a golf bottle thing
a nice shirt

DH's brother
a golf counter portable set thing
a nice shirt

Dh's SIL
??

DH's niece (godchild)
a velvet track suit
a pair of nice jeans
a toy which we have yet to buy

Dh's nephew
3 soft sweaters
a toy which we have yet to buy

my dad and stepmom
??

my stepsister and her boyfriend
??

my step-nephew
??

I think that's everyone.....

Oh! I forgot DH. I'm getting him a receiver for our tv. He's been begging for one...and I agreed. Silly me. *sigh*

Oh and Zach! - he's just getting a bunch of little stuff...like clothes and books....he's got enough toys. My inlaws have been forewarned... heh

CantWait replied: Haven't started but I started on the list for stocking stuffers. blink.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I have gotten Maddie several things so far.

I got her the Fisher Price Little Mommy doll with the high chair and bouncy seat accesories. I got her a Disney Princess Castle tent (she is into tents) And a little kitten that comes with a carrier and pretend food. (she wants a real cat, but we are allergic). I can't remember what else, but there is a closet full of stuff in there. tongue.gif

MomToMany replied: I haven't started shopping yet. But I have started making lists for everybody, which is a big accomplishment for me rolling_smile.gif !!

MommyToAshley replied: You mean people actually do Chrismas shopping before December 24th? blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif

3xsthefun replied: Not yet blush.gif I'm not sure when I'm going to start. Probably sometime next month..maybe. I usually don't get started until the first of December.

My2Carebears replied: I haven't started yet. I still need to start a list too...lol. I never start early, even though i say i am gonna. Maybe i can try this year...lol.

A&A'smommy replied: we have so many people to buy for and not so much money...and we have only bought one gift and that one is for dhs dad. grrr i have to start shopping!!!!

ediep replied: I got my sister and her fiance a present so far....but thats it!

I got them a wedding sign in book and pen set and a ring bearer pillow. I found them on ebay froma bridal store. They are all shaped like calla lillys. They are going to be her bridal flowers. She is getting my grandmas bouquet copied, since my grandma passed away a few months ago and of course, can't be at the wedding sad.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:

We used to buy for everyone and when Maddie was born it just got too hard. My mom and dad decided they couldn't stop buying for everyone so they get us one gift each and spend the rest on the 2 grandkids. We all try to draw names to make it easier on us. Then we buy DH's dad something. tongue.gif I love buying gifts for other people, but we don't have credit cards and I don't think anyone would want us going into debt for their gift, KWIM? biggrin.gif
