The ones that I thought were "my candidates" aren't even in my top 3!
Presidential Candidate Quiz
luvmykids replied: That was very interesting! I thought it was funny that my current governor came in last on my results, no suprise there
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: My top was my #1 and my least favorite was my #3. interesting
jcc64 replied: Previously, I knew nothing about my #2 guy- Chris Dodd. My #1- Kucinich, has always been someone I've agreed with on many of the issues but I believe is completely unelectable. (like most people I support). I REALLY like my #3, John Edwards- he seems thoughtful, well prepared, and up to the task.
My2Beauties replied: Who is Dennis Kucinich, he was my best, never even heard of him My second best was Obama and my third was Hillary Clinton, those are right.
My2Beauties replied: We had the same #1 - girl we are always alike in our views aren't we?
amynicole21 replied: He was my #1, too... I know nothing about him
jcc64 replied: He's been on Real Time (Bill Mahr's show on HBO, Fri nights at 11pm, then rerun ad nauseum throughout the week). He's very articulate on the issues, but wayyyyyyy too liberal for the mainstream of this country. Nothing he says is so very outrageous- he's a very mild mannered guy. In fact, that's probably why he's so unelectable in many quarters, not enough of a charismatic cowboy/a#$ kicker, that many feel is necessary for U.S. leadership. Me, I like my leaders to be dorky, cautious, and cerebral- not the punch first, ask questions later type, but obviously, I'm in the minority.
And you're right LeaAnn, we are two political peas in a pod. Maybe we can have our own sitcom- Yankee girl/Southern girl lefties take on the establishment...
DansMom replied: Who is Chris Dodd? (my turn ) He came out as number one. Obama, Hillary and Kucinich TIED for the number 2 spot!
A&A'smommy replied: wow thats very interesting!!
coasterqueen replied: I was right on with my #1 Rudy. I am not quite sure about the other 2 it said - I don't know enough about them right now.
My2Beauties replied: Hey I say we contact VH1/MTV and the like to see if a Reality TV series is in the works!!!
PrairieMom replied: I wasn't surprised with my result. Edwards, I was surprised that Hillary and Obama were quite a ways down my list.
redchief replied: I'm so not happy with my #1 match-up. Three tied for second place. So much for making my choice easier.
Kaitlin'smom replied: very interesting. I woudl like to learn more about politics and what all is going on, now if I coudl just find more time
coasterqueen replied: Oooh you make me wanna know who your #1 was.
5littleladies replied: My #1 was right on. I don't know who #2 is and I'm not sure how I feel about #3.
jcc64 replied: Ed- Curiously, who was your #1?
So Karen, you're feeling the Rudy love? I think he's a good fit for you in alot of ways, b/c you do seem socially more liberal than a lot of Republicans. However, I find it interesting that his carefully crafted national image as the supreme and competent leader during the chaos during and after 9/11 is definitely alot of tv hocus pocus. First responders in NYC, ie police and firefighters, HATE him, and it's not b/c they're a bunch of liberal softies. Apparently, they blame him for alot of what wrong in the towers- guys not being able to communicate with their commanders and such. Apparently, their leadership had been begging for new/better equipment and procedures after the FIRST attack on the towers in 93, and he chose to do nothing. The failure to learn from mistakes the first time around extended to the asinine decision to put the city's crisis command center, where else, in the World Trade Center. As Homer would say, D'oh! I too initially thought he did a great job during the immediate aftermath of the attacks, until I read about this part of the story.
For those who have issues with the evaporation of civil liberties, you'd also be interested to know that Rudy has a very long history in NYC of recklessly disregarding those, too. He's pretty much a tyrannical egomaniac, and I have concerns about people who are estanged from their own minor children. I think it says ALOT.
Btw, I'm not trying to sway you over to "the dark side". I know you are and will always be a Republican. But, not being New Yorkers, there are some things that people out there in the rest of the country might not know about Rudy just yet. I'd appreciate the same thing back from anyone who knows anything about some of the other lesser known candidates.
coasterqueen replied: I appreciate knowing first hand as a New Yorker what he's done there. I, too, want to tell the whole world about G-Rod and how he's totally screwed up our state.
I don't decide on a candidate because of how he would have responded to 911. There is more to picking a candidate than that for me.
Just like everyone LOVES Obama. He's going to fool you all if he gets elected or if you've already started to love this guy.
But people will believe what they want.
jcc64 replied: Good Karen, that's what I'm looking for. Tell, tell, I think the people in the home states have the inside scoop- I want it. What is up with Obama- sure he's charismatic and all, but what's his real deal? I know next to nothing about him. And even worse- who IS G-Rod??? (god do I feel dumb)
coasterqueen replied: Sorry G-Rod is our nickname for our beloved Governor Rod Blagojevich whose game is to become President some day. He's being loved all over the country and trying to make Illinois the leader is health insurance for all. You might like him for that , but unfortunately he's cutting tons of very important programs to pay for it when we don't have the money to do it. He claims he's cutting pork projects, but they are NOT pork projects one bit. These are serious programs that NEED to be in place. If he wants to do the health insurance bit he needs to wait until we can afford it. Our state is in deep trouble financially - he's just putting us farther in the hole.
Obama - He's very charismatic. He's too fresh. He's going to get pummeled in the White House. They will eat him alive and he will lose all sight in what he believes in and will do things that he never thought he'd do. He's going to be easily swayed by power and money and those who know how the game is played. Yes, he's been a state senator and now also on the federal level, but he's not been in the "biz" long enough not to be swayed in some way. I don't know how else to explain it but by that.
holley79 replied: It's so sad for me to admit that I have not kept up with the upcoming elections like I should. Now I'm reading my #1 website to see if I actually like him or not.
redchief replied: My #1 was McCain
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I was too ashamed to admit it. I'm glad you went first. I don't know how THAT happened. I guess we share the same views but I really don't like the man.
redchief replied: He's the Republican version of Hillary. He'll say whatever he thinks will buy him votes, regardless of any real moral standards.
Anthony275 replied: i dont know what i just did, but it scrolled down the page to Fred Thompson when i clicked it
Cece00 replied: My #1 was Romney, #2 was Giuliani and #3 was John Edwards.
I probably will not vote for Romney for personal reasons.
jcc64 replied: Many years ago, I used to like McCain, but now I think he's a complete idiot.
luvmykids replied: I doubt it matters since he's been so low in the polls, but Richardson is my current governor He's another member of the McCain/Clinton "tell you what you want to hear, depending on who you are" club
I don't have specifics off the top of my head because TBH I've tuned out everything in state politics since he's been in office. He's totally amoral though, I can tell you that much, and as much as he swoons about fighting for the little people, he'll really just step on you He's double talk at it's finest....says one thing, does another, then tries to backpeddle. Has spent ridiculous amounts of money on programs that either don't work or get buried until years later someone has the sense to say "Whatever happened to that money? Where's the program?"
