Chem-Dry and red wine

Our Lil' Family wrote: My mother left red wine on a table where Thomas could reach it this weekend....and he did just that...grabbed it and it spilled....on my carpet and the arm of my sofa! She claims Chem-Dry can get it out.....what do y'all think? I sure hope so cause if not she's buying me a new sofa!

ETA: I had a premonition about this last week AND I had *just* warned her that he could reach that table!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Peroxide is a miracle liquid.

Mix some peroxide and some dishsoap... put it on the stain a little bit at a time... maybe with a q-tip... it really works, and very very rarely will it ever bleach the fabric.

Our Lil' Family replied: This spot is way too large for a Q-tip....can I just use a small towel?

Chem-Dry will be able to tell you if they can do something with the stain.

A LOT of places wont touch it after you have tried to remove the stain yourself because it voids thier warranties and stuff.

Our Lil' Family replied: Rocky, now that I read that again I got what you meant and feel like such a dumb blonde!

I called Chem-Dry, he's coming out tomorrow at 9:30 and he'll "see what he can do". I told him we used Resolve and he was like...oooo...sometimes that actually sets the stain! Great!

At least my carpets will be cleaned...might be finding a bigger table for that area to cover that stain!

You REALLY have to be careful with some stain removers. Because a lot of carpet cleaning companies wont gaurantee thier work if you use them.

Our Lil' Family replied: DH already took the words out of my mouth, "good excuse to get wood floors"...he knew I was thinking it!

We have wood all throughout downstairs except the living room, and it's amazing!! (Also raises property values - although in Brentwood, TN - I don't think they can get much higher)

The stain mostly came out....there's a hint of it there but the table covers it. The sofa looks great as does the carpet throughout the house!!! They look fabulous, let's see how long they stay that way.
