amynicole21 replied: I know. I totally thought that pic was photo-shopped when I first saw it. Wow. They just pick a mouth to feed
Kirstenmumof3 replied: That is strange! I saw the show on A&E where the little girl was born with 2 heads. That was weird.
gr33n3y3z replied: How about that
PrairieMom replied: Wow. I wonder if she has any other problems.
grapfruit replied: Does anybody else think it's strange that she didn't seem to move in the video?
bawoodsmall replied: I totally thought it was odd. Her eyes were open right? She didnt even look alive to me. Very strange. I hope she doesnt have any underlying medical conditions that may get untreated.
bawoodsmall replied: oh and I hope she isnt a puker!!!! that would be bad.
My2Beauties replied: That is so odd, I read about this earlier. I wonder what type of medical problems she may encounter in her lifetime?
Crystalina replied: I think the second time they show her you can see one of her eyes twitch a bit.
Funny how the mother covers herself yet lets the cameras on her child.
Boys r us replied: I read about that yesterday. It's so odd! Bless her little heart! I have to say, I'm glad she lives where she does...in a place that they look at her as some sort of reincarnated higher power b/c perhaps she will live a good life, where as if she lived somewhere more westernized, she would likely live a life of ridicule! I hope that she is as healthy as they think she is and that she stays that way!
stella6979 replied: I was thinking the same thing.
Calimama replied: Wow.
kimberley replied: i saw that on the news the other day. i hope she stays healthy.
My3LilMonkeys replied: My thoughts exactly!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I read about her today on AOL. It said in that article that many of these children have major underlying medical conditions but her doctor said she was healthy for now. I hope she stays that way. It also said the father of the child sees no need for surgery but I can't help but wonder why (if they could correct it) you would choose not to. ITA with Nichole tho~ at least she stands to have a life in which she will be treated kindly.
jcc64 replied: I'm sure the mother's modesty is rooted in some sort of cultural/religious practice. It's quite common for children to be "exempt" from rules that govern the behavior of adults. For example, hasidim (an extremely devout sect of orthodox judaism) observe very strict rules about dress- men have to wear a specific hairstyle and all wear the same outfit- white shirt, black jacket, tie, pants, and a certain kind of hat. The women all shave their heads and wear wigs. They wear very modest clothes. And yet, their kids are indistinguishable from every other American kid. Once they hit a certain age, they have to observe the same rules as the adults. Maybe this is the case with the mom here. My first thought about her appearance is how strikingly beautiful she is. (and young) I had the same thoughts as Nichole. How lucky that this child is being revered as a reincarnated goddess rather than a freak of nature shunned by her community, as is often the case. I know nothing about this condition, never heard of it, but I assume there must be some sort of complications, and I would assume she probably won't live a long life, particularly if there is no ongoing medical care. This is a dirt poor village in India- I'd be surprised if they have access to quality medical care, and b/c she is seen as a deity, they probably aren't going to "correct" her problems.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I forgot to mention how surprised I was when the article said she left the hospital 8 hours after a normal delivery... I can't imagine a child here going home 8 hours after birth with nothing wrong let alone a case like this!
I thought of that too....Oddly I feel some sort of awe for people like that. People who are so commited to their belief system that whatever happens is the will of the higher power. I don't think I know anyone with the commitment to their religion to allow something like this as the will of (the) god(s). I know there are people like that (the parents who prayed their child would get well) BUT the people I know-although some of them are of great faith-will pray for supernatural healing while they also practice natural intervention. Sorry did not mean to go off on a tangent...
Crystalina replied: They showed her on there? I saw nothing but a hooded person holding a baby.
And I'm sure you're right about the culture thing. I was just thinking it was one of those cultures where all girls had to cover up. I'm not even sure what culture they are. I didn't pay that much attention to the talking because I was too busy watching. I only watched it once.
amynicole21 replied: Yes, there's a whole slideshow of pics... the mother is quite beautiful.
