Changing a boy's diaper... - and other impossibilities
Danalana wrote: I have changed boys' diapers before, but I swear my son pees more than any other I have seen. There's no telling how many things I have to wash each day because he sprays them. I don't know how to make it stop. I've tried putting something over him as soon as I take the diaper off, but it's like he waits for me to think I'm in the clear and take it off...and THEN he pees Do any of you have any tricks or anything? Thanks.
danahas4monkeys replied: You gotta be quick! What I always done was take the new diaper and lay it under him then when you pull the old one out all you have to do is fasten you can fold the old one up after you are done lol! Good luck you'll get it those boys are super tricky! And if it makes you feel any better my younger son peed ALOT too and somehow always got it up his back now thats talent he'd be bone dry in the front but he'd have pee clear up his back to his shoulders!
kimberley replied: you just can't let the cold air hit him. i used either cloth diapers or baby wash cloths to throw on his penis as soon as i opened the diaper. clean while it's covered with a warm wash cloth then get that diaper on quick lol.
they don't do it forever.
Danalana replied: The other morning, he peed all over his head...he had his head turned to the side and, when I looked, his ear was FULL of pee I don't know how to clean him and keep him covered! And what about if he has pooped and I have a huge mess? I have to uncover him!
PrairieMom replied: Ben's specialty was peeing down the wall. I'd uncover it, and he'd go, of course it would run behind the changing table, I would have to pull everything out to clean. How annoying. Welcome to motherhood. the only tip I have is to point "it" down, to keep the pee from leaking out the top of the diaper.
DillsMommy replied: Dylan did that. Only he peed in his eye. You'll get the hang of it. Quickness is the trick.
3xsthefun replied: You just gotta be quick! Ryan peed all over his face and in his eye one day. One day I got the bright idea to lay a clean diaper under the dirty one and quickly take off the old one and put the new one on real quick.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: LOL, the joys of boys. Wait til I post Logan's latest trick.
HuskerMom replied: Speed is the key. I always try to be as quick as possible but somehow he is quicker.
TrulyBlessed replied: Great!!! You guys are scaring me!!!
Danalana replied: Yeah, he peed in his eye today and then got very upset...I felt so bad for him! Then he peed all over me

A&A'smommy replied: I don't have a little boy but I have taken care of them at daycare and I had MAJOR issues with changing little boys You will get the hang of it!!!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol! Maybe you could wear a raincoat. We were lucky - Andrew only did that once in a while, and when he did it usually just got his clothes wet so I'd just have to change him and not me.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I think ONE STEP AHEAD sells those 'half of a football looking things' that you put on top of his penis as soon as you start taking down his diaper................. maybe that will help? I was really lucky with Sammy, he only peed like that a few times.
Teesa®© replied: I had two boys and neither did it very much.
You think this is bad? Wait till he's a little older and has learned to take the diaper OFF... you won't be worrying about the peeing anymore
It's when they wake up laughing that you need to be worried about
DillsMommy replied: Just wait until he WON'T lay still while you change him. Thats fun.....
Bamamom replied: I always pulled back the diaper - wave my hand in front of his tee tee a few times so the cold air would hit it - pulled the soiled diaper back up for a few seconds and THEN changed him. That way it was the old diaper that had the pee in it and not the new one. Kept him dry longer.
Believe it or not, one day you'll look back on it and laugh. Tripp's favorite stories are the ones that involve him peeing on someone.
Calimama replied: Hilarious..
lovemy2 replied: These are what I used and to be honest they did work - but there were times I forgot and poor Dilly was screaming one day when I was changing him and sadly he got a mouth full - did nothing for soothing him I can tell you that much -
I think I still have my PeePeeTeePees if you would like I will gladly send them to you
wcs40110 replied: I've always been told to pull the diaper down, blow on him then cover it up really quick.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: oh, yah - that is the best,,,,,,,,,,,,,especially when you are 8 months pregnant. LOL
Danalana replied: Bring on the peepee teepees!!
