Cellulite - I hate cottage cheese!
msmzrose wrote: My thighs look like lumpy old cottage cheese. Anyone know a good way to get rid of this nasty fat or atleast hide it? I am going on a cruise and the thought of wearing a bathing suit is making me queasy.....
Thanks, Michelle
lkelly replied: Boy, do I hear you. I have the same problem. I usually resort to a long t-shirt over my bathing suit to hide as much as possible. You can also try a tanning spray to minimize the look of the lumps. Most of all, don't think about it and enjoy your cruise! I'm jealous.
msmzrose replied: Thank you. I just hate looking down at them. The tanning spray is a good idea. Does it come off in water? Maybe I should fake bake before I go.
I bought that AVON cellusculpt. I don't kow if it will help but I am willing to try. 9 weeks and counting till bon voyage!
Have a great day! Michelle
My2Beauties replied: I heard that AVON stuff works wonders - I really did, keep at it, also the fake bake or spray tan will help minimize the appearance of them as well.
jenn3 replied: OH do i hear ya! If i new how to solve it i would be a millionarta But hey it comes with being a mom!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I've been using the elliptical machine at my gym and I can't believe how much of a difference it has made. I had cellulite on the backs of my thighs and now I can hardly see any of it. If you get a chance, walk, ride a bike or do lots of leg exercises. That should help and in 9 weeks it will dramatically reduce the appearance of the cellulite.
holley79 replied: The tanning sprays do help wonders and the AVON stuff works. I use the stretch mark cream right now. Trust me you will be having such a wonderful time that you won't have time to even think about your legs.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Maybe try some toning exercises (squats, leg lifts, etc) that target your thighs. A stronger muscle layer underneath makes the fat not as visible. Also, tanning is a great suggestion - small bumps/imperfections show up less on darker skin.
Good luck!
huggybugboy replied: my solution? wear shorts hate it!!
CantWait replied: You can do modified lunges. My trainer showed me a good way so that I don't put too much strain on my knees. The rundown:
stand with the back of one foot against a wall, bend that leg, and put the other leg in front of you, hands STRAIGHT out to the side. Putting pressure on the heal that's in front, lower back leg until the tips of your fingers touch your ankles. Do this about 10-15 times each foot, 2-3 times. You should feel it in your butt, and the back of your legs.
msmzrose replied: Wow! Thanks for al lthe great tips! I am working out twice a week using a stepper for 20 minutes and then weights. I have seen some improvement. I will keep at it.
I will have a good time regardless, I just know I would feel more comfortable if the little (ok not so little dimples) weren't there!
And did I read correctly- stretch mark cream. Oh I must get some of that---LOL. I guess that also comes with being a mommy.
Have a great day! Michelle
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Heh heh.... you can't really trule get rid of cellulite other than losing the fat that makes them.
Honestly - Cellulite is caused by your fat cells clumping together. Think of it as one cell big, one cell small. One cell big, one cell small....hence the <dimples>.
Creams and tanning will only reduce the appearance of them... they'll hide them. But they won't get rid of them.
Do lots of excercise.
redchief replied: Yup... only way to get rid of cellulite (the diet gurus' euphemism for fat deposits in the thighs) is exercises that target the legs and aerobic exercises that burn fat (leg exercises are great for toning the muscles but without burning off the fat, you'll have strong legs with fat over them.
