Can anyone tell me what - happened?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: I woke up this morning and immediately made breakfast. Which perhaps wasn't a good idea to do so quickly, because I was standing at the stove and suddenly got really hot and felt like throwing up. I don't get MS, but that's what it felt like, but I was also dizzy and light-headed. I drank a bit of orange juice to see if it was my blood sugar, but I just got more and more hot and nauseated. So I sat down on the couch and after maybe 10 minutes, it went away.

My blood pressure is always low, sometimes a bit too low, but the doc has never been concerned. Could that be causing this reaction? Baby started kicking when I drank the oj, so that made me feel better.

Anyway, don't hate me, but I didn't call my doc......anyone know what it could be? I feel fine now! wink.gif

Insanemomof3 replied: hmmm, no idea. But I would definetly tell your doc about it at your next appointment if nothing else. hug.gif Hope it doesn't happen anymore for you. Glad you are feeling better now. hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: That happened to me a lot when I was pregnant. Once while driving ohmy.gif When I told my doctor he smiled and said, "yeah, you're pregnant" dry.gif

mckayleesmom replied: You might not get morning sickness....but dizziness and hot flashes are a part of the package too...Im sure it was probably normal. My mom always said that she knew she was pregnant when she would get dizzy and sometimes faint....She knew she was pregnant with me when she fainted in the Mall.... blink.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: I get that way all the time when I'm PG b/c my BP drops so much. It happens when you get up and move too quickly. You might also be a little anemic. Sometimes that happens. Just make sure that you don't get up and move too quickly, and to sit up slowly in bed, take a couple deep breathes, then start your day. Gotta allow your heart to catch up. smile.gif

CantWait replied: It's normal. With Robbie, the first month or so I would get really hot, lose my balance and would blackout. Just bring it up with your doc at your next appointment. hug.gif

PrairieMom replied:
That exact thing happened to me at Walmart this morning! I thought I was going to pass out right there in the check out line! I was hot and sweaty, and shakey, and was probably pale. I broak into a bag of jelly beans and felt better after a minute. It sounds like a blood sugar thing to me. I would call the DR if it happens again tho.

Is it possible that we are experiancing the same pregnancy? laugh.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I totally think this sometimes!!! You saw my reply to your post about the 15 lbs huh?? Isn't that strange? Only thing different is you're having a little girl! Can you tell I'm still jealous?! wink.gif

Edward's Mommy replied: I got that all the time when I was pregnant with Edward. Especially in the shower. It got so bad that I had to lay down on the bathroom floor because it was the only place cool enough! Sometimes I couldn't move!

A&A'smommy replied: I have no idea but I would tell your doc at the next app. it might be your low blood pressure and getting up too fast. hug.gif

mummy2girls replied:
if it happens agian i woudl call your doc to be safe. With all my pregnancies i have always had a problem with my blood pressure. And when i was in labour with jenna i felt exactly what you felt and my pressure went dangerously low they had to give me something.

Its probably not a big thing if it just happened the one time...

PrairieMom replied:
rolling_smile.gif I'll believe its a girl when I see her. This whole pregnancy thing is so surreal for me anyway, but I can't imagine having anything but a little boy! And if it is a boy, at least I got to have a little fun buying some pink things! laugh.gif

Cece00 replied: I would say thats your blood sugar. It takes a little while to regulate it with food when it is low. I have the same problems, pregnant or not. In fact the other day I almost passed out in the kitchen b/c I waited so long to eat....

Next time, drink the juice & eat something (food) and then sit for a minute or two with your head between your legs. It really helps.

My2Beauties replied: I did that a few times when I was PG and it so happened that I was anemic while pregnant, I had to take two iron pills per day and I didn't do it anymore. I mean this could be somethign to ask your doc about at your next appt.

jacobsmama replied: dito.gif to the others. This is a very common call from OB patients to reassure you but if just happens want they usually say the line "your pregnant" if it continues very well from low bloodsugar. IF it continues then yeah call your doctor if your appt is a ways away. wub.gif

EvesMom replied: I've had this problem before, during, and after pegnancy. But it was associated with a heart condition that I have. (low blood pressure is part of my condition). You don't get heart palpitations do you?

redchief replied: There are way too many things that could cause that for me to say, "It was definitely this." Due to time of day and all, I'd think it was either hypotension or hypoglycemia (low blood pressure or low blood sugar respectively). Hypotension can be a real concern unless you're normally hypotensive anyway. Hypoglycemia first thing in the morning, especially among pregnant women, is fairly common.

Any time you have dizzy spells or illness that you can't explain yourself, you should mention it to your doctor, especially if you're pg. Glad you're feeling better, and I hope you don't have any recurrences.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I experienced that as well with Kellie, oncy twice though.

From that, I suppose I know what to look forward to when I go through the "change" later in life. dry.gif dry.gif That is not going to be fun.

I can also sympathize with my mother and my MIL when they are having hot flashes, although they have theirs under control with their diet & with supplements. I feel badly for anyone that has them on a constant basis. I was a real grump mad.gif for those few minutes that seemed to drag on forever!
