Can I get cold feet - sorry long
holley79 wrote: You know the first time you see those double lines on a HPT you are a little shocked. Then that wears off. You go to the first ob/ gyn appoinment and you hear a heartbeat and you are just amazed. You see the first "picture" of your baby that same day and you get teary eyed. You can't believe that there is a little person that is growing within you. Someone that you are going to be responsible for for the rest of your life.
Then you feel that first flutter in your stomach. Is it a kick or just something else? Then you realize it's defiantly a kick. You can't wait till others can feel him/ her moving in there also.
DH and you head in for another ultrasound. Today is the day you can find out if it's a boy or a girl. Your not really sure you want to know. The ultrasound tech asks. You and DH contemplate it for about 5 minutes. Finally curiousity kills the cat and you just have to know. It's a girl. You call the future grandparents, DH is on and your still a little on the "I can't believe I'm going to be a mom" kick. (It's amazing how long it took for it to sink in.)
You decided now is the time to paint the nursery. Then it hits you. "I'm going to be a mom". Even though this entire time you have been using a message board (which I'm so thankful that I found and met everyone here), reading books, telling people you are pregnant; it was like you hadn't convinced yourself.
Now we get into the "I'm ready for this child to be born". I'm tired of running to the bathroom every 5 minutes, my back hurting, my feet swelling and everything just being out of whack. Then it dawns on you, your going to be out of whack for the rest of your life, your a mom NOW.
Then today is the last day of really being pregnant. I know that sometime tomorrow I'm going to be holding a sweet little girl in my arms. Then the true, "I'm going to be a mom reality hits". Talk about scared to death. Now it's like, "Can I put it off for a couple more days, I don't think I'm ready." I know that when she is finally here I, myself, will be on but it's the in between time that I think is getting to me.
I have washed all the linens in the house, repacked all the bags, sent out emails, vacuumed the downstairs/ upstairs, made sure I have plenty of diapers, etc, and left instructions for SIL on taking care of the furkids.
I'm sorry that this got long. I just have WAY too much running through my head right now. No wonder moms go crazy, we as children made them that way. LOL. If you still reading this far into it, thank you.
I wish all the mommies to be: ~~~~~~~~~~ELV~~~~~~~~~~
To all the moms out there: You are the BOMB! LOL
I will keep you all updated. When I get home I will have to take a minute to get on here and let you all know the specifics and post pictures. I will miss you all.
amymom replied: Aww how sweet.

MamaJAM replied: Wishing you ELV and tons of luck tomorrow.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Once you see little Annika, all those fears and worries will go out the door! It's such a beautiful experience despite all the horror stories friends tell you or the books warn you about. Your body knows what to do! So enjoy every moment as much as you can and just know that being a mom is truly the best feeling in the world!
ELV to you! Looking forward to hearing how it all goes!
My2Beauties replied: ~~~ELV~~~ to you hon! When you hold that baby girl you'll realize everything is going to be just fine and you'll be a wonderful mom!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Oh I hear ya hun. I have been there, but that fear went away the moment I saw those big blue eyes looking up at me. Becoming a Mom is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. You learn so much about yourself in those first few weeks after the baby is born. Here are some ~~~ELVS~~~ for ya. I hope all goes well for you tom.
A&A'smommy replied: OMG girl I SOOOO remember those feelings they are extremly FREAKY.. its freaky being pg though... Anyway your going to be a GREAT mom I think one of the worse things about being induced is that you KNOW exactly when your going to have your baby so you have time to get freaked out.. and be nervous!!! LOTS of ELV and your going to do great I can't wait to meet Annika!!
My3LilMonkeys replied: ~~~~ELV~~~~ for you.
As soon as you hold your precious baby in your arms everything will make sense. Good luck tomorrow and I can't wait to 'meet' your little one!
MM'sMama replied: OMG I can remember those feelings all to well! It will be ok honey as said above as soon as you hold your little one in your arms it will all be right!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ELV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ITA...I was induced with my son, and had a few days to realize that I was going to be a Mom! I was scared and excited at the same time! When I was reading your post, it took me back to all of those pregnancy first. But nothing can compare to being a Mom and the joy that it brings! Once you have your little one in your arms, your whole life is changed in that moment, and you realize just how ready you are!
Stay strong and know that you have our support and ELV coming your way tomorrow!
