Build-A-Bear

Kaitlin'smom wrote: anyone know the average cost for one? I woudl like to get a gift card for Tristin (the sitters son who has LKS and beat lukemia) for his birthday but not sure what they cost.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: The bear's themselves aren't too expensive, but they get you on the clothes. I made one for Logan after his heart surgery, the monkey I picked was $14, but after the clothes and medical bag, I spent $45. I got a pair of slippers, spiderman pajamas and a medical kit.

PrairieMom replied: We have a place that is basically the same, just with a different name, and I agree, they get you on the accessories. The different types of animals are different prices, but they were all about 8-15 dollars. Then you have to get the music box for it which is about $3, then the clothes which were $5-15

We got one for each of our kids and they were about $25 a piece. Although we have had to replace the music box in the Boys bear 3 times now. rolleyes.gif

redplaydoh replied: The day we left the US sad.gif we stopped by Build-A-Bear and the boys made a Cookie Monster and Elmo as a memory/souvenir... we spent over $40 on each including accessories... but y'know Elmo and Cookie just HAD to have underwear, a short set, shoes, and t-shirt to sleep in. rolling_smile.gif

Cece00 replied: My kids arent really into stuffed animals, but my friends daughter has like 5 of them & I dont think they've ever gotten out for under $50-60.

Jamison'smama replied: We have a few but we really don't buy clothes for them at the time. You can get a gift certificate for 25, that will cover almost any stuffed animal and a shirt. Build-a-Bear also has a website
Build-a-bear you can see all their prices there.

MommyToAshley replied: I agree, it's the clothes that get expensive. Ashley went to a birthday party at one. It was really cute to watch them make their own bear, but I couldn't get over how expensive the clothes and accessories were.

I have a $5 off card if you want it... not sure if you can use it on a gift cert or not. I guess Ashley is in their birthday club, but I don't think we are going to use it.

Calimama replied: We are making one for Bella. The bear is $12 and the ballerina outfit is like $10-15.

kristy-n-chad replied: We made Noah a monkey with a voice box, a Red Sox tee shirt and jeans for $36.

skinkybaby replied: We've never spent more than 40- including an outfit and a sound box. They're pricey, but a lot of fun

J-rod replied:
red sox build a bear..... OMG i have to have one.

but yea expect around 40-50.

Kaitlin'smom replied: thanks for all the info, seems to be a bit more than I can afford right now. I wish I could do that for him sad.gif poor kid. So I will have to think of something else.
