Bruising remedies?

coasterqueen wrote: I'm always been a bruiser. I touch something and I bruise. rolleyes.gif Always have bruises all over, it stinks. My mom is the same way. I really don't want to go this summer (with hopefully a better looking body happy.gif ) with bruises ALL over me. Anyone have any remedies to this?

jcc64 replied: Arnica, which you can get at any health food store.

coasterqueen replied:
Is it something you can take along with other meds and w/nursing? I can always ask the health food store guru too. Thanks Jeanne!

jacobsmama replied: I was also going to say Arnica that is what we recommend to patients too and have you had your iron level checked lately? Also there is a panel they can check for easy bruising to make sure you don't need perscripton meds. wink.gif

coasterqueen replied:
I have had a lot of bloodwork done lately and it was mentioned that everything is fine. I've always been like this. I take a prenatal so my doc said I'm getting enough iron, too.

lesliesmom replied: I don't have anything to help prevent the bruising, but once one you have one, put a cabbage leaf on it. Something in it draws the bruise out. It sounds strange but I have used this on a few of the "doozies" my kids have gotten and it does work.

jcc64 replied: Arnica is topical- like a salve. We keep it in our little league first aid box, so I'm sure it's safe for you to apply. Maybe there are also some homopathic remedies you can ingest orally, but I'm no expert in that dept.

kit_kats_mom replied: You can also get arnica in the sugar balls. That's how we took it.

mummy2girls replied: im the exact way and unfortunetly jenna is too. one time i seriouslt thought i was dieing because i went to bed with maby 10 bruises and woke up covered from head to toe with over 30 bruises. So it tripled over night... my problem, low iron and my blood doesnt clot properly..i must be borderline hemophiliac...LOL... i had a test done where they make a small cut and then wait to see how long it takes to stop bleeding..10 minutes later i was still bleeding. ohmy.gif and if i drink alcohol it gets worse. So dont make me bleed when im drunk... wacko.gif

so if anything works for you let me know and ill try!

luvmykids replied: Arnica is amazing, once Colt really nailed his head on a corner of a wrought iron table, it swelled up and bruised immediately but we put that on it and in about 20 minutes, no bruise and hardly a bump.

EvesMom replied: Vitamin K works for me. Supplement to prvent, cream to treat.

boyohboyohboy replied: wavey.gif have you asked your dr to draw a protime or a ptt on you? its a test that can tell how fast your blood clots, thats not part of the normal blood draws, just a thought.... biggrin.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
I used to have the same problem Shelly. Turned out, I was sleepwalking and bumping into things when I went on my nightly cruises around the house. blush.gif
