Bring back my laundry detergent
mckayleesmom wrote: I hate that 2x concentrated junk....I don't believe it for a second. I want my regular size bottle of detergent back already.
mommymommy replied: LOL, I am with you on this one too!!
boyohboyohboy replied: me too! I have been looking every where for my normal stuff, and cant find it! I hate hate hate the new stuff.
DillsMommy replied: Me too! I feel like I'm getting ripped off because the bottles are so small. They're more expensive too.
My2Beauties replied: Honestly, they work just as well using a smaller amount of liquid. I prefer the smaller bottles because they aren't as bulky and heavy to carry and they use less waste. I am not the greenest person but it makes me feel better that I'm not throwing away this HUGE container.
Celestrina replied: Not to mention the main difference is less water.
mckayleesmom replied: I don't agree. Mckaylee is still a bed wetter. She probably pees the bed once a week. I use to just throw her sheets in with other stuff...wash it and whalla...good to go back on her bed. Now I have to either wash it twice or use 2x as much detergent and baking soda for laundry stuff.
If anything has a smell on it....I have to do that. I never use to have to do that.
cameragirl21 replied: just fyi, if you have something that's been peed on, add some vinegar (plain, white) to your load of laundry and it won't smell and will get really clean. I learned that from having a pet cat with frequent UTIs.... as for the detergent, I use soap nuts so it doesn't matter to me, the concentrated kind is supposed to be just as effective but less wasteful. I know it may feel wrong to be using less, Idk if it has any effect on getting the clothes clean.
mckayleesmom replied: Well...I will keep that in mind. I did buy some arm and hammer baking soda that is especially for laundry...And that has been working lately.
3xsthefun replied: Me too! It seems like I go through the smaller bottles faster then I did the regular sized bottles of laundry detergent.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I agree Brianne! I hate the little bottles and I do go thru them faster! I don't care if they are better for the enviroment, having to wash clothes more than once isn't.
FYI.. To not waste the plastic, I cute the lids off and use them for things like scooping dog food. Water plants etc. Then after I do that I recycle them. It works really well if you cut them just right b/c they have a handle. Another thing that works great is a 2 little coke bottle. I cut the bottom off and use the top as a scoop. Then I use the bottom for things like a bird feeder, a cat feeder for the neighbor hood cats. I probably find more use for these than most though b/c of the farm.
julesmom replied: I hate the smaller bottles. They do NOT get the clothes as clean as the regular stuff. I also go thru them so much faster.
mckayleesmom replied: I go through them faster too....They don't do as many loads as they say.
ALso...even the powdered detergent is different now...Remember when they use to pack it down really tight...now they hardly do that and it doesn't last as long...
Everytime I see regular bottles on sale somewhere I scoop them up because it's only a matter of time before they are all gone.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Our Dollar General still has the regular ones.
mckayleesmom replied: I know, but I notice they are slowly slipping away.
The only ones I find left are generic...which I buy when I find them because I would rather buy generic then those 2x concentrate ones...
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I started buying the smaller bottles, because it's just me and it's a lot easier to carry a small bottle to the Laundry Mat. My ex uses the 2x concentrate liguid and really likes it, he buys the ones with colour safe bleach (Claudia is so filthy when she comes home from DayCare).
I hope you can find more of the bigger bottles.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I love the concentrated detergents, and I use cloth diapers, and get no stink.
lisar replied: I prefer the powder in the washer I have. Its better than liquid.
