Breast Question - Breast feeding

beautifulkids wrote: Hi,
I've recently finished breatsfeeding my son and have noticed that my breast went from big and full to small and drained (I knew it would happen) But my question is, will they go back to the way they used to be or close or I'm I stuck having "deflatted ballons" for breast for the rest of my life
Thanks

mckayleesmom replied: Not sure..they might not go back to the perfect breasts you probably had before...But maybe you can go to the gym and ask a trainer what kind of excersizes to do to help tone them back up.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Depending on the size pre-baby & pre-BF, I would think that they will mostly be different a little with the effects of gravity. Again, I think it depended on what they were like before. Deflated?? I doubt it.

Jamison'smama replied: Sorry...mine stayed quite deflated~

kimberley replied:
dito.gif blush.gif there are exercises you can do to make them firmer but not like they once were. that's why good bras were invented tongue.gif

beautifulkids replied: I breastfed my daughter also, and I do remember complaining about this before, but I also remember them firming back up enough to keep me happy. I breastfed her for 13 months and my son, who I just weaned 2 weeks ago was a lot harder to wean, so he breasfed until he was 21 months, but it was only at nights after he turned a year. A few days ago my milk completely dried up and I'm left with nothing compared to my C-D cup before. I don't care if I never get them back to the way they were, but what they are right now is horrible. They're just extra pockets of skin. I just hope they firm up even a little bit, they did before, but I don't remember how bad it was last time either, so i don't know. Do breasts automatically get this way right after weaning and then adjust a little within a few months? Or do they stay as flat and deflated for good? Deflated and saggy I can live with, because they went that way after my first child, but I just can't imagine them being as bad as they have been the past few days, for good. Yikes!!!

MyLuvBugs replied: Mine didn't, until I got PG again. Then they filled right back up. laugh.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: I remember when my milk dried up, Cameron was about 6.5 months old. They did deflate, because I was so used to them being extra full with milk. And it was a shock that they got smaller.

But now they are back to their perky selves! happy.gif It took awhile for them to get that way, since I was a size E cup BF, and now they are a D.

But my sister just lost 100 pounds. She used to be a DD before the weight loss, and now she is barely a C cup. Her's have really deflated, and are saggy. I think because of the rapid weight loss...she lost the weight in less than a year. So weightloss can contribute to it. I know I lost weight while I was breastfeeding, and then gained it back when I stopped, so maybe that's why they are full again, and perky. dunno.gif

I wish I could help you out more with this. Just give it some time, exercise your upper body & chest, and see if that helps any.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: mine went back to full perky breasts after BF for 10m but I never took off my bra except sex and showering. I am considerably larger to since i had little mosquito bites before
I think it depends on your "gene" makeup etc....

C&K*s Mommie replied: I am not trying to make fun of your serious question, but I envy you for going down after a C/D cup. blush.gif I went from a 36/38C to well.... much larger than that after both of my girls, and my DH made a comment the other night, the same night I was thinking that I have become even larger than that nowadays. Now I have to go back braziere shopping, yet again. dry.gif Which is not fun, because I lucked out at Fredericks getting the sizes I needed in the style that I wanted. I do not want to go with the hideous styles just to get the right (bigger) size.

Enough about me, sorry! blush.gif

Edward's Mommy replied: Mine totally deflated! Before Edward, I was a C, when I was trying to BF I was a D, and now I'm a C and 1/2 (I wear the half size cups)

beautifulkids replied:
Mine went back to normal last time too, but it just being a few days since my milk dried up and I'm seeing the worst of it right now, scares me to death thinking that there is a possibility that this is the way they're going to stay this time. You know the way they feel after a feeding when the child sucked them completely dry? Well that's the way they are right now. I'm hoping that maybe the ducts just need some time to shape up after so long of working hard.
blush.gif I don't care if they stay the way they are as long as they firm up enough to have more of a texture then just flesh(lol). They're still the same size, just with the life
sucked out of them rolleyes.gif !!!lol I'm trying to have faith since it has only been a few days, but the fear is still there!!!

coasterqueen replied: Well I breastfed Kyliel up until I was 8 weeks pg with Megan and towards the end right before I got pg again I got down to my C cup from a DD. I think you eventually get down to where you were in size, it just takes some longer than other. BUT the elasticity of your skin/breasts may not - they may sag farther south. This is NOT from breastfeeding, it's from them growing during pg. I'm only saying that for the benefit of those who think it's because of BF wink.gif.

So give them time they may go back to size, but they probably will stay somewhat "deflated" but it totally depends on how BIG they got during PG etc.

mommymonster replied: I breast feed mine also, I before, I was a very over full C cup, now I am a small B, but not always.....right after breast feeding I was barely a loose skin, no shape, even if I ate a doz donuts for a little extra fluff, A.. at best.

Over time, they perked up and no longer look deflated, but I am still a small B. I am looking into getting implants. I have tried exercise, and that is great for toning, (will not make your boobs grow), change of diet, herbal pills, creams, you name it, and I may have tried it.

But...........there are the lucky few.... that actually get their before shape back.
Best of luck to you!
