Breanna & Jenna's Doc appt....

mummy2girls wrote: is coming up this tuesday... Breanna has an appt with her neurologist at the stollery for her 18 month assessment. I know she is fine and she will do fine but Im still scared because its a neurologist. For those that dpnt know... Breanna was diagnosed with lazy eye when she was 2 montsh old. And was referred to an ophthamologist. He said she had out turning of both eyes. And because its rare for a baby to have that he referred her to a neurologist. So at 4 months old she goes to see one. The neurologist saw her and agreed she has this. And usually that a sign of celrebal palsy... WTF!!!! So they wanted to see her at 6 months old. They even had a catscan scheduled just in case her eyes seemed worse. She goes back and he said that her lazy eye is gone so she outgrew that and her outturning is improving so no catscan! YEAH!!!! She then has to come back at 12 months. The doctor said she is perfect! That she shows no sign of the outturning. But he also has seen kids like this eventually go in turning. and if thsi happens she will need surgery. So they want to see her at 18 months old. So tuesday is her appt.... PLEASE PLEASE cross fingers she is ok....

Jenna has been peeing alot lately and asking for drinks and being thirsty all the time. type 1 and type 2 diabetes runs very highly on mine and arons side of the family so I booked an appt to our family doc. My dad has it, his mom had it, my dad has 6 bros and 3 sisters and hald of them have it. One of my cousins oldest child has type 1. a few of my cousins have type 2. aron has it, his mom does, and a neice and cousin of his has type 1. so it runs...

I am so worried for the outcome of both appt:(

PrairieMom replied: any news?

mummy2girls replied: Breanna.... she was atypical 18 month old. Pushing away his hands, closiung her yes, crying etc etc etc. with what he was able to see the out turning is not there. he didnt see anything major but for him to be reasurred he doesnt want to see subtle signs as well. and he wasnt able to get a good look. So she is rebooked to go back at age 2 years old and hopefully she will be better at it. And let him assess her. Little turd!

Jenna no sugar in teh urine, on infections. She is in teh clear!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!

luvbug00 replied: great news! thumb.gif

youngmomofone replied: That's great!!

Did they still do blood work on Jenna? Idk anything about diabetes but my mom was diagnosed with blood test instead of urine test?

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm glad to hear it went well! thumb.gif

Ever since my sister's two kids were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, I've always noticed it right away when either of my kids starts drinking or peeing a lot, and then I panic a little about it. It always just turns out to be nothing and they go back to normal after awhile. happy.gif

kimberley replied: thumb.gif good news!
