Boy..I guess I've really been living in a - fantasy world- I'm heartbroken!

Boys r us wrote: My mom called me about 30 minutes ago and said, "Don't freak out, but do you know where Tanner is?"

My reaction..."SCHOOL"

She said that the school called and said he wasn't there, my mom told them to go check again, as far as she knew he's supposed to be in school. The school has my mom's # as an emergency # and they had tried my cell and I wasn't at my desk, so I didn't answer..so they called her.

So I immedietely start crying..I told her I would call Rick and see if he knew something I didn't. I called Rick b/c I leave the house at 6:45 in the morning and before I leave I get the kids up but Rick gets them on the bus and to the sitter's.
He said, Tanner went out to get on the bus this morning and he's 200% positive of it b/c he walked out the door and then came back in 1 minute later saying he forgot something and then Rick saw him go back out the door to get on the bus.
So at this point I'm hysterical! My call waiting was going off on my cell and I hung up with rick and picked up the other line, it was the school..they started explaining the situation to me..and I through mounds of tears streaming down my cheeks and a voice shaking so badly that I was hardly audible..said, " I know ..my mom called me..I can't talk to you right now, I'll call you back"
Then my mom called me back, she said she went to my house and that he was not there, she searched it twice.

I was beyond hysterical at this point, I couldn't breath..I was bawling and literally had to have two co-workers standing beside me helping me stand.
The girl beside me said, "did he skip school?" I somehow managed to muster up a hateful voice and snap back at her, "HE'S NINE FREAKING YEARS OLD..HE MAKES STRAIGHT A'S..No he didn't SKIP SCHOOL!"

The two co-workers helped me to the bathroom, of course, I'm causing a ruckus bawling so loud everybody in the building could hear me on the way out.
My whole body was shaking..I called Rick back..my mom back..no one still new anything any different. At this point, my mom was crying, Rick's voice was shaking, one of my co-workers was crying.

So I said, let me call the house...like in denial..just expecting to hear his voice even though in my head I knew his sweet little voice wouldn't answer since my mom had just been there searching for him!

He answered!!!!!!! I went from heartbroken to livid in .2 seconds!!!!

I said, WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? he immedietely started crying saying he'd forgotten to do his homework?!??!??!??!!??!?!

My 9 year old, honor student skipped school! I don't know how he snuck back in the house without Rick seeing or hearing him..nor where he was hiding when my mom was looking for him! but one thing is for sure, I know he has no clue the heartache he caused today!
I'm so angry with him right now. mad.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: OMG! I was in a panic just reading that! Good to know he's ok though. He must have been afraid of getting in trouble for forgetting to do his homework.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh my heart sank as I was reading that! I am soooooo glad he's okay! Sorry that you had to go through that. hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Oh no Nicole! I can only imagine how scared you were. But, glad he is ok.

ions_momma replied: OMG! That would of been sooo scary!! Im glad he is ok! hug.gif

DansMom replied: That must have been a horrible feeling---I'm so glad he's okay! It occurs to me, reading your description of him as a student and his explanation for why he skipped, he must have been unusually hard on himself for forgetting to do his homework. Was he so ashamed to show up empty-handed that he avoided the situation? In a way that shows how much he cares about being a good student.

ammommy replied: Wow how scary. hug.gif to you and be sure to give him soapbox.gif
That was NOT NICE Tanner.

kit_kats_mom replied: I was thinking the same thing as Tracy. However, he obviously knew he was not doing what he should have been since he went to so much trouble to sneak in and hide from your mom.

Little turkey. I would be really relieved but ticked off too.

chloe&tysmommy replied: whew! Thank goodness he is okay!!! my heart was going a mile a minute reading your post blush.gif I can only imagine how you felt... hug.gif

luvbug00 replied: OMG!! I was dying reading that!! ( now I feel bad for my mom I did that all the time blush.gif ) I'm glad he's ok.. hug.gif for you!!

sweetiez replied: Oh lord!. Thats is soo scary! when i was reading it i was like omg.. i hope she found hem!. hopefully that wont happen ever again! . wacko.gif

CantWait replied: I'm so sorry Tanner caused you such a scare. I'm glad to hear he's alright though hug.gif
