Bottles please...

moped replied: I use Playtex drop ins - love them......with both kids

HuskerMom replied:
Ditto!

maestra replied: I liked the Avent bottles. We tried Vent-aire with Jaci, and she hated them. With Giselle, we just gave her the Avents.

I was telling my sister in law, who is due next month, to register for one type through the registry, but to only open one package, and tape the receipts on to the others. I know that some babies just don't like certain nipples. That way, if the baby didn't like the one she picked, out she would be able to return the others to get a different kind, and wouldn't be out any more money. Just a thought.

Kentuckychick replied: I think the best bit of advice I can give to a mother about bottles is don't buy more than one of each until you decide which one your child prefers!

There are now 8 infants enrolled in my classroom and only two use the same bottles. Let's see, we have;

- Dr. Browns, Avent, Soothie, Soothie Breastflow, Playtex, and Medela.

I have heard comments from at least every mother on how "Oh that brand didn't work for us because (insert reason -- nipple flow too slow/fast, made baby gassy, made reflux worse, didn't like the bottle -- here)." I'm not sure any of the babies still have the same brand they started out with.

I could swear by the Soothie bottles because I used them both with the little boy I nannied for and with Caydee but I've come to realize what works for one baby just may not work for another and I'd hate to send a mom out there to buy 20 of one type of bottle and then find out her child hates it.

When in doubt, start with the evenflo cheapies (those colored plastic bottles that cost about 5 dollars for three) -- they are easily replacable and tons of babies love them!

Crystalina replied:
Me too. Nothing like making a bottle with one hand. They are great! thumb.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: Dr. Brown's thumb.gif

bawoodsmall replied: Em was Vent Aire Playtex
Aiden was Dr. Browns because of his pukiness - did nothing by the way.

My kids never had the I dont like that bottle problem. They would take whatever as long as there was something in it.

A&A'smommy replied: i used drop ins for lissa and vent air for autumn (the few times she has hd a bottle) tongue.gif

luvmykids replied:
same here. mostly used the playtex.

mckayleesmom replied: mine were not picky....I did use Dr. Browns.......when they got older they liked the parents choice kind with the different animals on the bottle.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: If I were to use bottles, I'd get glass ones. Plastic ones can have BPA in them. I'm sure there are BPA-free ones, but I'm leary of most plastics.

jem0622 replied: Loved Avent non-disposable
