3. Plot?

4. Favorite Character?

5. Was there ever a moment you dislike the book? Or a character or part of the book?

6. Was there an eye opening or thought changing moment for you?

7. Favorite part?

8. Would you recemmond this book?

Rating...1-5?

Ok, guys if you want to add questions feel free.

mckayleesmom replied: 1. Did you like the book? .....Yes very much.

2. How long did it take you to read? About 2 days...I read it while breastfeeding...LOL

3. Plot>....Basically it is about a man who has worked for a carnival all his life. He is now old and bitter about the things he hasn't done with his life and things he did in it. He is accidentally killed trying to help some people on a carnival ride that goes wrong. When he gets to Heaven he meets 5 people that somehow affected his life. He knows some of them and he doesn't realize he knows some of them until they tell their story. In the end he realizes that he can stop being bitter and angry because his life was just how it was suppose to be and there was a reason for everything....At least that is how I took it.

4. Favorite Character? I would have to say the little girl from vietnam...(one of the 5 people)....because she helps him overcome alot of the guilt he felt and gave him some closure.

5. Was there ever a moment you dislike the book? Or a character or part of the book? ...No...I like the fact that it was very real and not everything ended happily in it.

6. Was there an eye opening or thought changing moment for you? This book definantly makes you look at life differently and realize that its not so bad. It also makes you believe that whoever you hurt in life..wether intentional or accidental..that you are forgiven in the afterlife. Some things were just meant to be...wether you caused them or not. Its all part of a bigger plan.

7. Favorite part? When he finds out the little girl from Vietnam is the hand that he was touching when the carnival ride fell on him and not the little girl he was trying to save.

8. Would you recemmond this book? Yes....

Rating...1-5? I give it a 10...LOL

4. Favorite Character? (ruby)

5. Was there ever a moment you dislike the book? Or a character or part of the book? (not the book, but his father at several points (reminds me of someone i know) Also when he believed the captain (part of me knew from the war point on that there really was a little girl in that hut and it irritated me when he believed the captain that it was his imigination....)

3_call_me_mama replied: oh yeah... if we can pick a new book in the next couple days i would LOVE it cause i'm still on semi vacation cause cameron still has the chicken pox so i am doen at my inlaws with NOTHING TO DO cause the are tending the kids also we have a 5 hour drive home saturday so i could get some reading done.... just a thought... i think a comedy or romance would be good...... something sweet...

coasterqueen replied: 1. Did you like the book? [B]YES

2. How long did it take you to read? A few weeks...I'm slow. tongue.gif

3. Plot? About a man and his trials and tribulations through life and how even though he felt his life didn't have meaning it turned out it really did after meeting the 5 people in heaven. Everything in our life has purpose, we just might not know it.

4. Favorite Character? I would have to say Eddie, himself. I enjoyed seeing his life through his eyes and how his meaning of his life changed with every person he met on his journey through heaven.

5. Was there ever a moment you dislike the book? Or a character or part of the book? No

6. Was there an eye opening or thought changing moment for you? At the very beginning there was a saying, I can't remember the exact words but that even though you might not know people in life everyone affects your life in some way. Having a hard time explaining it, lol. I wrote down the quote but lost it. rolleyes.gif I also began to think differently about the relationship Eddie and Margarite (sp?) had and how that made me think of mine. A bit hard to explain, but basically it made me see that even though my husband may not show his love like I'd like him too, I know he really has that deep down love for me and maybe one day I'll get to see it how Margarite got to.

7. Favorite part? When he saw his wife in heaven.

8. Would you recemmond this book? Definitely

Rating...1-5? 5

mammag replied: 1. Did you like the book? Yes, though it was built up so much by cil that I didn't like it as much as I had hoped.

2. How long did it take you to read? 2 days

3. Plot?

Eddie dies and meets 5 people that changed his life in some way and discovers the purpose of his life.

4. Favorite Character? I liked Ruby. She seemed so real to me.

5. Was there ever a moment you dislike the book? Or a character or part of the book?

I also thought the last lesson was too short. It almost seemed like he got tired of writing the story and hurried it along at the end.

I hated Mickey! All along he gave me a sick feeling in my stomach. I found I wanted to skip over parts with him in it, I didn't though.

6. Was there an eye opening or thought changing moment for you?

The whole part about the dad, about forgiving. It brought up feelings about my dad. It just made me sad. Thinking he may regret things he's done, when it's too late and knowing that right now he is too blind to see it, to do something about it while there is time.

7. Favorite part?

The part where he finds out it is the other girls hands that he held in the end. It gives you hope that you will be forgiven for things you do to others.

8. Would you recemmond this book?

Depending on who asked.

Rating...1-5?

4. Great story line but he could have done so much more with it.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I haven't read it yet. Didn't realize we were starting. I guess I will read it in the next few days and then answer the questions.

Heather replied: Oh a book club!! I would love to join in on the next one!! I have a book sitting here waiting to be read...

It is actually a Triology smile.gif

Lovers and Dreamers by Nora Roberts.

It is huge book though so maybe not...LOL

Oh I am excited...sometime to MAKE me read!! YAY

mammag replied:

I didn't realize he was trying to rape her.... I took it as he was just coming on to her as Eddie walked in. It's interesting how I would take it differently than Josie. This is what I'd like to get more into with this book club. I'd like to see how people can look at the same thing and see different things.
