Boo&BugsMom replied: YES! We took her with us after we went to the meet and greet. Thanks for asking!
The only hurdles we are trying to get over are, #1, the potty training. We was/is trained, but being in a new house and all she now has to re-learn it, in a way. since our schedules and daily lives are different than what she was use to. She has had 2 accidents, but none yesterday and none today as of yet. She seems to have a bladder of steel, which is great, but she seems to prefer going potty when on walks instead of being let out. Any advice on the potty training would be appreciated. #2...the cats, which is actually 100% better than the first day we brought her home. They each had a stare down with her yesterday, one at a time. One was on the bed with the dog last night, which is a HUGE step, even though they were on opposite sides of the bed. I'm sure in time they will all get along, but Lucy's beagle instincts kick in and she wants to chase them. She is getting better about it though.
In all though, she is doing really well to the adjustment so far. She LOVES car rides, so she comes with us in the morning to take Tanner to school. She also loves walks and does really well on her leash. She is pretty obedient, especially for a puggle.
So far, all is well and we love the new member of our family!

Parker is the SAME way about the potty thing! Maybe it's the beagle in 'em. Honestly, he's held it over 30 hours until he gets walked then pees for 3 minutes straight. DUH!!! It is crazy. The vet said that if a dog was raised in an upper level apt building and got used to the routine of walking to potty you can see this. She also mentioned that if a dog was left to roam the property (like a farm dog) they tend to go to the furtherst corner possible. Because we have a fenced in city yard (generous for city standards but not a farm sized yard) he might not feel he can get far enough away from his living space to go in the yard. Neither of these applied to Parker. He was used for target practice by someone so I doubt he was a city dog. We seriously doubt he was anyone's dog by the shape he was in when we got him so we are still at a loss to why he does this. He still (we've had him 2.5 years) very loosely associates the yard with potty. We do treat and praise when we "catch" him going in the yard. We have also been advised that if we only let him out to potty and not to play until he "gets" it, he'll get it. We tried that for a week but he would hold it until we walked him and just not go out. The upside is he never goes in the house and we already walk him every day so it hasn't been an issue for us. Just one of the many quirky things that is Parker!
Calimama replied: She's SOOOOOO cute!!! I'm glad she's doing well. She sounds like a great dog!
Boo&BugsMom replied: I'm glad I'm not the only one in this situation. She was from a home with more land than what we have. She was also outside a lot, so it's possible the farm/land situation fits her issue. I dunno. Troy is going to call the past owner tonight to see if we can get a few answers. Other than that, everything is great!
Poor Parker. Target practice??? That breaks me heart.
lovemy2 replied: Oh Boy is she cute
Brias3 replied: She's adorable! Two of our closest friends got a puggle awhile back- she's now 9 months and the SWEETEST dog. I have fallen in love with that breed!
