My3LilMonkeys wrote: DH, MIL and I went to the hospital on Monday at 6:30 AM for my induction. We got there, got settled in and they started the pitocin around 7:45. I was 3 cm dialated, 80% effaced when we started. I started feeling contractions a little after 8 and they were pretty small and tolerable until 10 AM or so when they started getting real bad really fast. I knew I didn't want an epidural, so I asked for something else. The nurse checked me and I was 7 cm at that point so she checked with the Dr and I'm not even sure what they gave me...LOL. It's wasn't pain medication, just something that was supposed to help me relax so I could handle the contractions a little better but really all it did was make me VERY dizzy. A little while later I started feeling the urge to push so the nurse checked and I was ready to go...she said "I've been doing this a long time, he'll be out in 1 push" and I thought she was crazy. But one push later, there he was.
He was born at 10:30 am, 6 lb 11 oz and 19 1/2 in long. He ended up having a pretty bad case of jaundice (but he isn't yellow at all, which I found odd - I thought all jaundiced babies were yellow) so he was in the light bed all night last night. His levels dropped, but not enough, so he came home with a portable light blanket that we have to leave him in as much as possible so hopefully that will clear up in a day or 2.
So here's our little peanut....
