BebeSounds Prenatal heart listener

PanthersGirl wrote: Has anyone ever tried one of these?

I can't find my baby's heart for nothing!! Is it really that difficult to find>?

It seems like i hear her kicking around and about but i can't get the heartbeat.

mammag replied: I had one but only heard the heart beat once. Like you, I heard a lot of kicking and movement.......and also my own stomach making interesting noises. rolleyes.gif

JAYMESMOM replied: I never was able to hear the hearbeat with one. I returned it after a few trys.

kit_kats_mom replied: Is that the one you get from the store? I ordered one online and it was great! I listened to my baby in-utero for months.

Mommy2BAK replied: I have one too, I would just sit around the house and listen to it all the time, even though I could only hear the heart beat a few times. wub.gif

PanthersGirl replied: I got mine online too. Its BEBESOUNDS is the brand.

After reading the manul there is a lot of things you have to try to do to get to hear it. Like wait 3-4 hours after eating (to avoid hearing your own sounds as much) and it tells you where to start from as well. Room HAS to be quiet and so forth. So I look forward to trying it again when i get home.

kit_kats_mom replied: You will know it when you hear it. The baby's heartbeat sounds like galloping horses. Beautiful baby.gif

PanthersGirl replied: Well it was saying how you need to turn the volume down to listen to your own, and mine didn't even seem too loud.

Im not giving up on it yet. I just tried it for a few at work at my desk, and part of the problem here is it is a bit noisy. Guess I just thought it would be simple....stupid eh...nothing is simple biggrin.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: It might just be too soon for you to hear it - it's not as strong as the things the doctors use. wink.gif I have one that I got at around 22 weeks and I couldn't hear the heartbeat until about 30 weeks. I could hear kicks and stuff but not the heartbeat. It's also hard to hear if the baby's not in the right position... I was having a hard time finding the heartbeat a couple weeks ago and I think it was just because the baby had changed positions.
Don't give up on it you'll hear it soon! Dh and I have had a blast listening to our baby's heartbeat together! wub.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Oh yeah that's the downside - it has to be pretty quiet because it picks up background noise. The first time I tried it all I could hear was my dogs toenails clicking on the floor! rolleyes.gif

~KARA~ replied: I have it and have been listening to this babys heart beat since I was 12 weeks!

I bought it when I was pregnant with my youngest dd 3 years ago and use to liesten to hers all the time too.

My dh has heard the hb. I just have to tell him that the thump thump that he hears is my hb and the wosh/ washing machine sound is the babys.

PanthersGirl replied: Well i have heard it at the doctor's office 3 times. But supposedly the ultrasound heart beat is a sound it makes to detect the heart beating but not the actual sound of the heartbeat. That is what bebesound's manual says anyhow. So I guess I was listening for more of what i heard then.

At 12 weeks wow! I didn't even get to hear it at the doctor's office then! Was it the same kind?

Here is mine...

thats the one I had. According to the ladies on my expecting club, it beats the one you have. I was able to hear the heartbeat halfway through my first trimester. You just rent it
& ship it back when you are done

~KARA~ replied:

YEP sure is the same kind!!! I was 10 weeks 3days when I heard the hb at the dr office the first time. You have to be very still and the house/room very very quiet. Its hard for me to find that quiet with a 3 and 7yr old and living "in town" but I can still find it.

Try different spots on your belly and kinda push down alil. That's what I had to do at first.

Jamison'smama replied: I rented the babybeat as well----it is supposed to be more sensitive. Loved it!

PanthersGirl replied: The one you got is just like the ones the doctors use! That is why you had no problems. It is the ultrasound heart monitor. 40 bucks a month!!!

I paid 20 bucks for the one I have LOL!!!! With the baby coming unfortuneltly i can't afford to rent one of those. THough i seen it on another site, one that babyzone.com advertises (it was about the same price,) but I just can't invest that much into it. So i thought I'd swing 20 bucks to try out this one.

PanthersGirl replied:
Thanks Kara! That's more refreshing! I've been so excited to get this in the mail so was hoping it would work!

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Oooh I wanted one of those... too much moola for me to spend though. sad.gif I was lucky I could spend the 20 bucks on my Bebesounds one from Target! rolleyes.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I was never able to hear the heartbeat with it but still used it to listen to the kids moving arround smile.gif
