Bathtub toys - suggestions??
Jamison'smama wrote: I am looking for some new bathtub toys---primarily for Jamison. She no longer looks forward to bath time so I am trying to find some new stuff.
Any good toy suggestions? We have crayons, dora, letters, etc.
Anything else that is fun???
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kait got this mat that hangs on the wall for her birthday, she can draw on it or play music with it. She loves it. Espically singing ABC with it.
mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee has bathtub crayons.....or..Remember the barbie that came with the bath foam...you can draw her clothes on with the foam that comes in a shaving cream can......I use to have one of those when I was young.
coasterqueen replied: I wish I had a clue. Kylie is so simplistic. You give her a cup and she plays away. She LOVES playing garden in the tub. I gave her a cute little watering can and she fills it up with water and pretends to water her flowers. She also plays with stacking cups in the water. All the toys (Dora, etc) I've bought for her she doesn't even play with.
Edit to say: Will she play Lemonade stand with you or anything like that? Or what about a tea set for the bathtub? Kylie likes to fill her stacking cups with water and serve me tea or lemonade. I don't drink it, I pretend and pour it in the tub, obviously and she doesn't drink it either, but she has lots of fun doing that.
kimberley replied: the favorites here are squirt guns (or any toy that squirts water) and tupperware we have the world of dora and other bath toys and jade wants tupperware bowls lol. the boys were totally into their goggles for a while too tho it made me nervous when they dunked their head. and rubber duckies are always popular. we have a family of them.
luvmykids replied: They have those magnetic fishing sets, they're fun.
3_call_me_mama replied: Maybe it's time to switch to showers? I was asking my mom about it, cause cameorn is getting board with baths and doesn't want to be in there or play with much and she sadi that I was about his age when I switched to showers, as tehy were quicker adn I was gettin board in the tub. (But when I wanted an occasional bath I had a cabbage patch doll that went in wiht me (designed for the tub) So maybe a water baby with a littel swim suit!
DansMom replied: Daniel enjoys showers as a change of pace these days---good suggestion. He tends to really like toys that will motor around in the tub, like those little wind-up whales and frogs and boats.
paradisemommy replied: taven has this toy made by crayola that uses color tablets..they are two little places you put the tablets and add water then you can blend the water together to make a different color..he LOVES it..plays kool-aid stand with it and is in the tub forever..it also has a place to put bubble bath and it's supposed to be able to crank out bubbles but it's kinda junk..and the other side has this little part that you can push down into the water and turn a little crank so it makes little waves in the water..
i bought this huge bottle of shaving cream that i'll spray on the walls every now and then and he'll "paint" the bathroom..he has a blast with it and clean up is a cinch..
can you tell we love our bath???
mom21kid2dogs replied: Olivia had fun foam, which she loved (still does). She liked those foam letters/numbers, too. We had a dolphin symphony set (I think I got it from Lillian Vernon) that was neat. You put the dolphins in rings and put them together then bop each dolphin on the nose and it plays notes. You can arrange them differently to get the notes to go up, down, etc.
Oscar replied: You can buy finger paints made out of soap designed for the bathroom that just wipes off with water. They can draw on the wall beside the tub or whatever, its fun!
It can also be fun "later" for you if you get my drift. Oscar
Jamison'smama replied: Thanks for the suggestions--I will certainly try some of them--the shaving cream sounds fun. We have tried the finger paint--what we had wasn't great, maybe there are other kinds. She does not like showers --still doesn't like water on her face--although she likes to swim
Tammy, we have the same color mixer---it's fun, I just need to buy more color tablets.
fashionmumofboys replied: My kids are pretty simple, they are happy with the plastic toys, nothing to special.
CantWait replied: Anthony's favourite is either boats or a cup.
TeagansMom609 replied: Teagan has Baby Einstein toys that suction cup to the wall and you can pour water into them and they spin around when the water goes in. Its pretty cool. Its hard to find fun bath toys anymore. When I was little I had a whole little town that suction cupped onto the wall that had little people in it. It was really neat.
Bath toys
Cece00 replied: My boys like those motorized toys, boats, fishing sets, crayons, etc.
Have you tried letting her bring any water friendly regular toys?? My boys love to bring their Thomas the Train trains in the water...we only let them bring the older scratched up ones b/c they are wood, but those are always entertaining...
