Bailey's 18 month appt

Bailey was way unhappy with the weighing and the shots but recovered quickly, thank goodness.

She actually lost a pound so now she is the 10th percentile for height and weight, but the 95th percentile for head circumference. We have started saying her head is like an orange on a tooth pick.

She doing good and talking more. And has recently acquired an obsession for Blue's Clues...thank you Cary.

She's getting harder to entertain so if anyone has creative suggestions to distract her in the evening-I'm all ears.
Right now we are drawing, using sidewalk chalk, playing with balls, we got her a little swing/slide climber, and have given her some dressup stuff.

kit_kats_mom replied: We dance a lot here to wear her out and we have also started taking her to the tennis court to chase tennis balls until she collapses. It works out really well because she can't run away and the balls don't go too far. We can sit down but she gets a great workout.

Now you just need one of those automatic ball feeders that shoots them out real far for your backyard at home!

Chloe is into Blues Clues too..lol. She loves watching that and she really loves to color. We are pretty lucky though b/c she can entertain herself really well- She really loves her doll stroller and her shopping cart so that always keeps her busy.

BTW, I love your siggy picture! Bailey has so much hair- how cute!

coasterqueen replied: Glad her appointment went well The only other suggestion I have is play dough. Kylie seems to be entertained a lot between that, coloring and mega blocks. If I really need a moment from her and I'm about ready to lose it I put in a video )

paradisemommy replied: i bought a cheap old bag of beans and i put them in a big tupperware container and set them in front of him with 2 other big bowls and a cup (measuring cup or little tupperware) he LOVES to scoop out the beans and put them in the other bowls..he'll go back and forth and has so much fun though sometimes he misses and they go everywhere but i figure - heck they're just beans!!

i chuckled about her head is an orange on a toothpick..when taven was born they said he had a small head so i always envisioned the opposite..a HUGE body with a little tiny head..but i guess he's *normal* now..

One cavat. The clean up is not so easy if you use rice or grits....just trust me on this one.

Ashley loves Blues Clues too. She watches it right before naptime, and when it goes over she knows it is time for her nap.

Have you tried the Magic Wonder Markers from Crayola (I think that is what they are called) It's markers that only write on the coloring book pages. Ashley will entertain herself for quite a while with them... more so than crayons. It will not write on or stain clothes either. I still have to watch her though because it says that it will stain leather and we bought two white leather couches before we even thought of having kids.
