Bad eye appt... - I left in tears

They had me put in the new contacts to make sure they fit as they didnt my exam she had the Dr. come in. SHe had the Dr. explain to me that they found out I have some type of disorder or diease I was way to upset to understand... but all I did get was I can only wear my contacts a few hours a day... My blood vessles are growing on top of my eye instead in my eye. They said that I need to cut back on my contact use to make sure they heal properly. She said if it heals wrong that I can lose the sight in my right eye, talk about scared right now. I have to cont. to go back and make sure that it is healing right. At this point I am so scared.... Please say some prayers for me... I go back in about a week or so to have it checked again...

devinsmommy replied: Yeah I think I am going to get lasik next year since my little one will be 1. I was going to get it this year, but with everything going it I thought it wouldnt be a good idea...

MommyToAshley replied: That does sound scary, I'd be upset too. But, it sounds like everything will heal just fine as long as you follow the doctor's instructions. So, hang in there, you'll be fine.

I got a new kind of contact on my last appointment that allows more air to get to the eye. They are made mostly of water... I thought that was pretty odd, but they do feel more comfortable. The only problem I have is that they slide off my eye sometimes. Maybe you could ask your doc about them, I believe they are brand new. I'll have to look at the name of them.

The good news is that you found out now before your sight was damaged, at least you can treat it now.

DansMom replied: That sounds upsetting and scary---I would have reacted the same way. Definitely it is good to find out now when you can do something to reverse what's happening.
