Bad Day - Got Money Stolen

I guess my bank card got double swipped and they made a copy of the card and withdrew $1000.00 from our account. I filed the report witht he bank and with the police - gosh I hope it is nobody I know or our small store in our community - that would be awful!!!!!!

For that amount of money it would have to be one of those walk in types
I think they will be able to see who took it bc they all have camras and time stamps.

moped replied: We will get the money back because we are insured with our bank - so hopefully this weekend we will see it again...................and what the police think happened was I made a purchase somewhere and they had another machine that copies it and a camera to see my pin number.....the withdrawls were taken from another Royal Bank in the same city that I live - but far away. They do have cameras and the police will look at the tapes and call us if they want us to see it...........apparently there are rings of people that are all associated and do this...the copy could have been made yesterday or a week ago or a month even....so it is hard to know!!!!!!!
Very angry - big city life I guess. Calgary is just hitting a million now - LOL............not that that is big to some of you....but big to me!
mammag replied: Glad you will get it back. That kind of stuff makes me so angry! I once had someone steal a check from me and payoff their layaway at KMart of all places for $300. I got the money back but since only a select few would have had access to my checks and I pretty much figured out that it was my best friend at the time. Needless to say, she wasn't my best friend any longer. I never said anything to her about it but sometimes I wish I would have. She just pretty much got away with it.
Shaykinmom replied: That really sucks. but good you'll get your money back. I heard about a ring of people doing the same thing here in Mass. Something like 250M being stolen from many people. Some people just need to get a job.
