Back in the Hospital!

Kirstenmumof3 wrote: Well he threw up again this morning, right after I had given him his medication. So I called and spoke with the Heamotology/Oncology Fellow and he told me that he was going to speak with the head of the Bone Marrow Transplant Team and call me back. When he called back he told me to go to the ER to have Spencer admitted. So he is back in the hospital on IV fluids + Magnesium. We got to the ER at 11:00 and we were back up on the unit by 3:30. His nurse this evening is his favourate nurse so this is really nice. They are still going to give him his medications orally, but if he has any problems than they will give them through the IV. We'll see how it goes. He seems to be doing fine otherwise, eating and drinking really well. His doctor is on in the morning so we will know more about what he wants to do. It's very ironic, we are back in the isolation room (because there are no other rooms available) and it's the same isolation room that he had his transplant done in. How very strange! Anyway I will keep you all updated as to how he is doing!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Thanks everyone! I spoke with Spencers doctor this morning and he has ordered an ultrasound for tomorrow and has asked that the GI specialists come and do a consult in the morning. Otherwise Spencer seems to be doing okay. He is eating, drinking and playing. He won't stop talking, which is really unusual. So I would say that he is back to his old self again! I won't have any answers until tomorrow, so I will update when I find out anything! The doctor is still optimistic that we will be able to get home next weekend.
