Back from my appointment

5littleladies wrote: I'm scheduled to be induced on Monday. She wanted me to go in on Friday but had just scheduled someone else for then. I'm glad-it gives me until just after my due date to go on my own, and it gives me a bit of time to prepare myself. She is planning on gelling my cervix and thinks that since this is my 4th baby that should jump-start me enough to get things going. I really hope so! I'd love to not have pitocin and to not have my water broken.

She stripped my membranes again-hopefully that will do something this time. I haven't progressed at all-that was frustrating, BUT she could feel Alyssa's head, something she couldn't do last week so that's something. Start sending me labor vibes everyone!! I want this little girl to come on her own if possible. happy.gif

jem0622 replied: Walk...and walk....and walk some more! That is all I can tell you! Try something spicy!

I was told the gel won't really do much. They didn't even bother with it with the girls. What you can ask them to do...if you have dialated even a little bit...ask them to break your water. I am not kidding. They did that with the girls and man did that get the ball rolling! Holy cow! Within 2 hrs the girls were born. At that time I may have been at 2 or 3cm.

GL GL GL! Of course I favor Sunday since it's Gabe's birthday! LOL!!!

coasterqueen replied: Awww, well see it is working out wink.gif. Good news! Come out baby!!!!! Come out and play with us. tongue.gif hug.gif

5littleladies replied:
I think breaking my water will be the next option if the gel doesn't do anything. I know it works because that is how they got things going better with Brianna. I'm 1 1/2 cm right now. Wishing I was more but oh well. rolleyes.gif

Someone I know had the gel to start her induction-they put it in, she left for about 4 hours and within an hour of returning to the hospital she had her baby-That's what I'm hoping for. Wouldn't that be easy!! biggrin.gif

kayla's mama replied: Come on baby baby.gif ~*~*~*~Good Labor Vibes~*~*~*~*~

Hope she not stubborn. With Mikayla I was not even dialating. I went in at 40 weeks. Hope things go well

mammag replied: ~~~~~~~~ELV's~~~~~~ You'll be in my thoughts. I can't wait to hear that she is here!!! hug.gif

mummy2girls replied:
your already dialated right? because i had the gel when i was pregnant with Jordan and i was maby half a cm dialated and the gel took over 10 hours to kick in. it was torture.

coasterqueen replied: Jennifer,

Like you I've heard the gel works for some and not for others. Is it like cervadil? That's what I had and it didn't do a darn thing, but I know several people, a good friend in particular (and this was her first baby) that it worked wonders for. It sounds like it worked for you as well. Good luck, let's hope it does the same again. thumb.gif

Is Sara going to keep us up-to-date? tongue.gif blush.gif

amynicole21 replied:
I had the gel with Sophia... didn't do a whole lot, but didn't hurt anything either! Both times breaking my water got my babies delivered within 2 hours also.

Hope you don't need either thing though! Come on out, baby!!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ok - this might be frowned upon by some of you - but what 'worked' for me, and my doctor at the time told me it was 100% safe - is putting little capsules of Evening Primrose Oil *up there*.

The oil has something in it that helps dilate the cervix. Dunno if it`s true - bt within a few days, I went into labor, and both of mine were under 4 hour labors. (except for the wait between water breaking and actual contractions for EMilie with the pitocin)

5littleladies replied:
I've been taking it orally for a few weeks now. I've thought about putting it "up there" but I've heard it's messy. I'm such a pansy when it comes to mess. It might be worth it though. rolleyes.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: I agree about the EPO (primrose oil) it works to soften your cervix and help it along a little. Orally is ok but it is suggesdted to puncture teh capsule adn insert up there.
