Back In Toronto - And an Update on Spencer
Kirstenmumof3 wrote: Well I arrived today with only a minor problem, I picked the wrong cab company. We recieved vochers from the Cancer Society and I took the wrong cab. Oh well, things could be worse. The cab driver was a real jerk about it. I didnt' have any money and ended up having to use my Visa to pay for it.
Spencer is out of the CCU and is resting comfortably in his room. He is still in isolation, but has technically made it to Step Down, which means he is starting to engraft and his counts are coming up. He has lost all of his hair, so that was a shock to me. He has an eye infection, but is cooperating really well with the eye drops. Still having the treatment for the RSV and continues to have respiratory therapy.
All in all things are starting to finally look up!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Spencer is over the RSV, they are going to immunize him for this. It's an intramuscular injection that babies get, only babies get one shot, he needs 5! Spencers last chest X-ray looked really good! He is still in repiratory isolation and can't leave his room, still really tired, but other than that he is doing FANTASTIC! His eye is looking much better and they are weaning him off of the morphine! Keep your fingers crossed that he continues to improve and that we get to go home soon!
Forgot to mention he is also starting to feel hungry! So maybe in the next few days he will want to eat. Right now he is taking small sips of water or ice tea.
amynicole21 replied: FANTASTIC news! Keep up the good work, Spencer!
kimberley replied: i am so happy to hear some good news! Spencer is a trooper. continued prayers his way.
