Baby Slings - which one
Mommy2Isabella wrote: ok we went out on a limb and got the peanut shell sling ...
Isaia HATES IT... I tried to put him in it today and he WASN'T HAVING IT screamed like he had been shot or something, and wouldnt stop until we took him out. Not to mention he just looked uncomfortable ...
I am trying to find one ... I would PREFER one of the ring slings ... but a wrap will do ... any suggestions
Kentuckychick replied: Hmm... I'd make sure any you order has a return policy? If he hates one there's a good chance he may hate them all! Of course you could give him a few weeks and he may love it Aren't babies wonderful that way!
I've heard that the Karma Baby Slings are really nice
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: My favorite was teh Kangaroo Korner fleece pouch. JOhnny insisted on teh kangaroo carry (tummy to tummy but like standing up in it). If I tried to lay him in it he would FREAK out
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: For a newborn, I LOVED the Moby Wrap! It is so comfortable too, as long as you wear it right.
boyohboyohboy replied: we had this one, and i thought andrew always looked so uncomfortable, and he hated this thing.. i ended up selling it.. i have seen many of the moms around here using the ones that wrap around you like a big shawl, and then you can wear then face out or tummy to tummy or on your hip.. they look happier.. let me see if i can find a link..

Mommy2Isabella replied: the peanut shell is a lot like the mamasmilk sling ....
i am really looking for a ring one that doesn't cost a MILLION dollars!!!!
lovemy2 replied: Never tried one with Olivia - tried one with Dylan and he hated it - not sure if I used it wrong or what but it seemed to generally swallow him up - I used a Baby Bjorn - that worked for the most part.
Bamamom replied: Have you tried several positions with the peanut shell? Katie hated it unless her head was kind of up and her face out - with her head laying on top of my booby. Then she'd just sigh and go right to sleep. But woe until everyone if she slipped all the way down into it!!!!
Jamison'smama replied: I LOVED that one too. I had the Maya Wrap with Jamison and it was great and less expensive but after I ordered the Fleece Pouch for Jack, I rarely used the Maya.
grandma replied: I had and still have, the original Snugli, it's 30 years old...lol
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I never got used to those slings. The one I hear most people rave about is the New Native, something like that. It's really stretchy. I bought some Hip Mama type one and although the fabric was well "hip" and cute, the material didn't stretch much. Plus you had to get YOUR exact size, so it isn't easy to trade with other moms. I gave it to another friend my size but I don't think she uses it much either. I really think my Bjorn was easier.
PrairieMom replied: I never tired the sling, but I had a snuggli that I LIVED in for the first few months. I loved it.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Jess, Aiden hated his sling as well. We had an Infantino SnugRide and he couldn't stand it. He did however do ok with the Snugli we had for him. $3 at a garage sale.
Mommy2Isabella replied: i made sure i was doing everything right with the sling we have ... and i wasn't and he will tolerate it for short periods of time, but it isn't the most comfortable thing for me.
I ordered a ring sling from BellaBabyWraps.com ...
Jamison'smama replied: With the ring sling--and Jama, the trick for her was to get her in it without much trauma---so I would put the sling on, put her on my shoulder and slide her in from that position, then just get moving, start walking very quickly after putting her in there making bouncing movements etc. and cinch cinch cinch--higher than you'd think. Then have someone---anyone spread the material out on your back--that makes all the difference in comfort.
Those are my tips
