BOYs and their hair - inspired by M2A

MomofTay&Sam wrote: Sammy has sooo much hair at 14 months. It is hanging over his ears! His hair is beautiful and so curly. I know he needs a haircut bad, BuT how do I do it??? He wont sit still for a diaper little lone a haircutt!!

kit_kats_mom replied: Ummm, Valium! wink.gif JUST KIDDING! I have no idea. I am not looking forward to cutting K's hair. I'm planning on leaving her in perpetual ponytails.

paradisemommy replied: i think you may be surprised..taven is almost 18 months and he has had 4 haircuts so far...(1) he did ok but that's only because the stupid lady popped a lollipop in his mouth and he never had candy before... smash.gif wasn't impressed, didn't go back (fantastic sams), (2) went on base to the barber - he did ok and the haircut turned out ok, (3) dh went with and he sat on dh's lap this time - he cried for the first time and i think because of that, the lady rushed (same lady as #2 cut) and did a really poor job - the back of his hair was still long and (4) i just took him today and i got another lady that i LOVED..she didn't believe in giving candy to kids to bribe them - he sat in the chair all by himself and cried initially but after we were talking to him, then he calmed down and she did so good with him...

ok sorry to ramble but he may not be as bad as you think.. laugh.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
LOL!!!! rolling_smile.gif

Yeah I think that will be the plan for Jade too. When she gets enough hair to put in ponytails. rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: i just left it long for as long as i could and if it went in his eyes we would trim his bangs when he was in a very calm mood (it's usually a 2 person job) or even asleep. put him in the high chair if you have to do it alone and be quick about it! he might surprise you though... once we took James to a salon, he was in such awe of the hairdressers chair and stuff he didn't budge an inch.

hth,

dolfinrse replied: We had Zack's trimmed right before Christmas. Just the back and the sides. The girl did a really good job, I held him while she used the buzzer with the blade on him. He didn't cry once.

MommyToAshley replied: Awweee, I bet he is sooo adorable. We haven't seen a recent pic of him, how about posting one.

My mom was the same way with my brother, he had curly red hair that was sooo adorable. She didn't want to cut it, but then people started thinking he was a girl so my Dad said it was time to cut it. LOL rolling_smile.gif

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

MomofTay&Sam replied: Thanks guys, I think I will give it try next week. smile.gif He had his hair by his ears trimmed before but he was so young. Here are two recent pics. smile.gif

MomofTay&Sam replied: ohhhhhhhhh nooo what happened?? DeeDee help meeeee!! emlaugh.gif

MomofTay&Sam replied: The real second pic.. blink.gif

DansMom replied: Oh he's so cute!!! wub.gif I don't have to worry about how to get Daniel to sit still, as he is still a baldie like I was at that age (but just starting to get more hair now). I cut his nails while he's sleeping, but I don't think that would make for a good haircut! laugh.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
LOL! I deleted the duplicates. biggrin.gif

Oh my goodness, Sammy is getting big! ohmy.gif He is really adorable!!!! I just love that second picture. wub.gif I can see why you don't want to cut that georgous hair. Be sure to post some pics after you cut it. smile.gif

CantWait replied: What a cutie wub.gif Robbie had lots of hair also, but he did pretty good with his first haircut, around 2.

MomofTay&Sam replied: Thank you for fixing my mess Dee Dee. I am going to try for the haircut this week if we ever see the road again. smile.gif

kimberley replied: wub.gif Sammy is soooo cute! he has gotten so big! good luck with the hair cut and post pics when it's done!
